News US looking to invest $500 billion in AI over the next 4 years

Its a $500 billion investment over 4 years. A joint venture between OpenAI, Oracle and Softbank to create what will arguably be the best AI infrastructure in the world. For context, this amount is equal to roughly 1.83% of USA's current GDP. Initial funding of $100 billion is already deployed immediately. Nvidia and Microsoft will also be helping with the project. Trump also mentioned that the project will create around 100,000 american jobs.

The press conference had Trump, the SoftBank CEO Masa along with Sam Altman and CEO of Oracle, Larry Ellison. The big three claimed that we'll get medical breakthroughs at an unprecedented rate, personalized mRNA vaccines, etc. with the help of AI. The SoftBank CEO mentioned AGI and ASI as well. Personally, I think there is where we'll get ASI if we are able to create in before 2030.

Anyways, I'd highly recommend everyone to watch the conference. This is arguably a historic moment and must not be missed.

OpenAI, Oracle, and Softbank, have announced a massive AI project called Stargate. The investment is massive at $100 billion upfront and up to $500 billion over the next four years.

The goal is to build cutting-edge AI infrastructure in the U.S. and stay ahead of China in the AI race. They will be setting up advanced data centers in Texas. These data centers will power AI development and re-industrialize America while also beefing up national security. Big names like NVIDIA, Microsoft, Arm, and Oracle are onboard as tech partners.

Now, what does this mean for us regular tech enthusiasts? Maybe faster AI breakthroughs—better generative AI tools, smarter automation for businesses, and maybe even more affordable AI-powered gadgets down the line. If this scales right, we could see a global shift in how tech evolves.

But the real question is: Will this kind of investment trickle down to benefit end users like us or just stay confined to big corporations? What do you think?

Benefits will be there in field of science and research also . Lot of things will see much faster results.
But mostly big corporations and political parties will be able to make most advantage of it.

$500bn is some good amount, some of that will spill into Indian IT companies.
Look for Indian IT stocks, NASDAQ funds, etc. which may benefit from this.

Elon is already mad lol

Unlike those projects this one doesn't really have a well defined goal. It's just giving money to these companies and hoping for the best, it seems. At this point no one can really say that throwing money at AI will give some AGI like breakthrough.
They cant wait also when nations like China are fast catching up in every field. even the toy drones from China are getting smarter day by day.

There is a reason why US and Israel stay ahead in lot of tech stuff. They are not afraid of taking risks and not meeting their actual goals.
