Does this mean buyer can use only reliance sim? I have an airtel sim card. Can I use it?
Also can I update the OS when new version is out?

(Sry, if these are noob questions. I have'nt used iphone before.)

R sim or gevey sim are small sim trays in which you put your sim. This makes the phone think that it is official sim . eg. Sprint sim in this case. So phone is unlocked. The downside is that some features like 3g or facetime dont work but upside is you get cheaper unlocked piece. You can upgrade OS. You'll need to buy new rsim of you update os.

Btw there r people who unlock sprint phones for Rs. 5000 why not do that and unlock it permanently? Yes as of now it's illegal to unlock any phone from US but still people do that....
