I have been using an android for the past 8 months, and to be honest, I dont see it being very suited to my needs.
I made the entire shift on the basis of strong and vehement advice from the forum to shift, and now that I have experienced it, I dont see any benefit whatsover.

The only app I need is WhatsApp, which is available on Blackberry.

I dont need 3G.

The only difference between the two is:
Bold 9000: 624 MHz Processor 128 MB RAM
Curve 8900: 512 MHz 256MB RAM(twice RAM, lesser processor).

What matters more?

LOL, Android is a buggy messy OS, I have always said that, but at the same time I can't think of moving to another OS because some stuffs Android can do, well other OS can't even think of. Hell it can even ring a phone automatically when I am sleeping. Anyway, not everyone is or should be a nerd like me.

And about those two phones, well I can't say anything about the Curve 8900, but when I was a BlackBerry user (and I was for nearly two years, wouldn't touch anything back then) I used 9000 quite a lot, and I can say it's (or was!) a brilliant phone, I mean you will definitely notice lags here and there but if that doesn't bother you then go for that. The build quality, the call quality, that ****ing keyboard, well they all were brilliant. In fact I myself am looking for a 9000 if I could get one at right price, to use it as a secondary phone.

Both of them have the trackball, which will cause problems. Try and get a cheap 9300/ 9700 which would be better. I sold off my 9700 for 4k about 3 months ago

I just came here to mention about the trackball, yes, they are problematic, letmein is right. I mean there won't be any problem at all at beginning but then when it will start to catch dust (and whatever you do it will get dusty) and then the trackball response will get, well, pretty bad, click won't register, scrolls won't scroll etc., it might become really annoying.

@AMG: I have always had a fear about Aliexpress. Have never purchased anything from them? What about you? You have any experience?

Being a regular blackberry user for past 10 years, I would suggest to stay away from trackball models, buy 9790 or 9900 instead.

Flipkart has reduced the price and re listed
9790 & 9900 at 10k & 11k. Respectively, check it out,

Aliexpress is reliable, but pretty late delivery buy from top rated sellers only.

the battery life on the 9900 is shocking.[DOUBLEPOST=1425365877][/DOUBLEPOST]Plus for my extremely limited using, I feel the 9900 is going to be overkill.

My gripe is with touchscreens as a technology.

They're over complicating everything in order to cater to the needs of either content hungry mongs who need apps like snapchat and instagram to stalk celebs and to keep in touch with their so called "friends" some of whom they've never ever met or ever will.
Or they are designed to cater to the nerds of the society who want to root their phones and custom launchers and ROMs and what not,

I am neither of them. All I want from a phone is whatsapp (for those folks who are not of facebook) and email (for work).
And it is for this purpose that I'm willing to compromise on apps for convenience.
