Blackberry without BB services::please help

hi all,

i have bought a BlackBerry 7100 v from ebay, but now the reality has hit me. I cant spend Rs. 800 per month and AIRTEL would not give me GPRS setting for BB. They gave me a BB customer care number and calling there i was told if i do not wisht to use servicves then i can just call 121 and ask them to send the setting for normal phone(hiding the fact that i wish to use it for BB & i did that, still not working ) :(
Can some one please help me.
i wish to use BB without service, how do i go about it, i already have GPRS activated on my current cell.
And if i have to tell that i am using not a BB, which is the closest phone i should ask them to send settings off.

The blackberry push email works with enterprise activation and/or airtel bb service. If you are not part of an enterprise exchange group then the only other way to get push mail for blackberry is to sign up for airtel bb at which point you will be assigned an email id airtel.blackberry.com. Any emails to this id will be pushed to your phone.

Regarding getting normal gprs to surf the net and stuff blackberry is a pretty locked down model, its usually provided by your workplace and they configure it. I have never tried to fiddle with it because its a work phone. You can try blackberryforums.com for your particular model to see if anyone has figured it out.
