Laptops Blasphemy! Dell cheaper in retail than online!

^^ I know dell is going retail everywhere , but elsewhere , the internet prices are still better /match the retail prices. Its only here that its the other way round , and cases like the OP said happen. Forget brick and mortar shops , when another online retailer can sell it for cheaper than the pioneer of online marketing , something somewhere is clearly fooked up :P

Bah...I dont mind....better for us customers ultimately :D

+ dell discounts FTW ;)

i Once tried buying a Flat Monitor from Dell website.

their agent gave me quote of around 1.5k higher than my dealer, i tried negotiating the deal with dell rep. I even showed him Prime's website for lower price but still be didn't give me a discount of a single rupee. after about 15minutes of talking and trying convince him to lower the price.

He said" Sir the price given on website is fixed and taxes & octroi are extra"

wonder how you guys get discounts?

do you use some magical words or what?

Me unsuspecting neighbour called up Dell to find out about the delivery details the sales rep asked what config he wanted. He gave a quote 4k below the website's quote. So this guy called up again the sales rep for something else and another guy answered the phone, this time around he gave a 6k difference. He was like main wapas call karta hoon kya pata yeh time 8k ka diff mile :bleh: I can't blame him.

^Woah!!!

/*scramles and searches for his phone/:P

Okie, A few HP lappy's had distracted me..Blame the delay on them..

Here's another update

Went to yet another shop, He had some models on display..
Guess what, at approx the same price as the online price, BUT

1) 3yrs warranty
2) web cam /mic
3) 1gb extra ram

I was like Woahhh.....These features easily add upto 5k..even after bargaining..And we're talking abt a 37k laptop..:)
He also had the eepc 4g at 12.5k..:)
