Received the following message from Excitel today:

Dear user,
As per DOT Cyber Swachhta Kendra, your device may be infected with botnet malware. Please visit Cyber Swachhta Kendra: "Don’t be safety blinded, be safety minded" for remediation. -EXCITEL

It doesn't matter what provider you're on, the botnets keep scanning you and it's quite relentless. As an experiment, I kept logging unauthorized inbound packets into my router and had to stop cause it filled up real quick. Lotsa attempts to target common vulnerabilities.

Soo true, even today you can find lots of people (not techies).
Connect there LAN cable directly to a PC, which most of the times are without password.
