Graphic Cards Bottleneck or not?

is it absolutely necessary to have an l3 cache to run the 260?

If thats not all then within 25k suggest a good config to last for 4 years;
Everything inclusive except for Monitor and DVD drive. Reply fast
 
^^^Buy HD5770.....what resolution do u play at, because that determines a lot, and also it depends on the game..
 
A decent config would come for 45-60k. Something within that budget will last 1-2 years or so.

No hardware lasts more than 2-3 years, no matter how high end.

For the price what you will get wouldn't be too great even for many of the games of the past, leave alone the present.
 
I know that rite but i will be getting a laptop soon so dont have much to spend on the desktop.

i play at 1440x900 but keep everything maxed out.
 
CPU: E5200 : Rs. 3300 -> Will not bottlneck anything upto HD4870. Has got huge OC potential too.

Mobo: G31-S2L : Rs. 2200

GFX: Powercolor HD4850 HDMI: Rs. 6600 -> You dont need any more than this for 1440x900

Power Supply: Corsair VX450 : Rs. 4000 -> Last long, really long, will allow future upgrades.

Cabinet: Generic ATX : Rs. 700 or Can invest in Cooler Master Elite 335 cabinet here (Rs. 2k)

Mouse+keyborad: Microsoft desktop : Rs. 700 or Can invest in Logitech MX518 or Razer DeathAdder mouse, along with Razer Goliathus Mousepad. (Rs. 1.5k/3k + 1k)

Total: Rs. 17500 (basic) / 23500 (will all options ticked)

For gaming on a 19" (1440x900) monitor, this would be the best VFM config.

If you can overclock that processor to 3.6GHz+ it should have no problem in providing playable 30+ FPS in all current games including CPU intensive ones like GTA IV.
Sure it will bottleneck GTX260/4870 but you probably won't feel any difference between 40fps and 60fps while gaming.

How can he not feel the differenece between 40fps and 60 fps ?

Anyways i finally got a quotation

Phenom II 550 - 5.1k

Gigabyte 785GMS2H - 4.3k

LG DVD RW - 1.1k

500GB HDD - 2.5k

CM 310 - 1.5k

Corsair 450W - 3.8k

GTX 260 core 216 - 10.8k

I am getting a rebate of 5400 on my old system so it brings the entire budget to 23k. He he!!
 
One more thing is the CM 400w any good??can i run it with this config??

rite i am getting the 4870 for the same price here so the 260 is a better buy when considering physx and cuda for games.
 
Dont even think about CM.

Get Corsair only. VX450 will be optimum. Next option is Glacial Power 650AA @ 4.3k

+1, for this combo, E5200 + Gigabyte G31EMS2L are made for each other combo, I recently bought the same, does 3.8Ghz on stock cooling :hap2:
 
There is absolutely no point in getting a dual core for more than 5k.You will be much better off with Athlon II X4 620 for 5.5k.
In just a few months from now when support for quad cores becomes widespread it will outperform the phenom 550 by large margins.
