Hi guys I bought an HP pavilion dv 6515 , I have some doubts

1.HP and compaq comes with same Charger ??? I mean the pin

2. Is there any screen protector available for laptop screen like mobile phones and pmps .. Also is it a good practice to apply it???

3.my laptop hdd has just 2 partitions c and d , d with some 10gb recovery stuff and rest 400 gb just in c , how can i add more partitions , which software will have to be used for it...

1. No idea
2. Available, but not so widely. And I personally don't feel the need for it.
3. You can use the inbuilt disk management that is part of Windows Vista (assuming that your system came with Vista), but it'll not allow you reduce the C less than a certain limit. For better control over partitioning, use a 3rd party software like partition magic or paragon partition manager.

use Acronis*Disk Director Server which works like wonder for even with partition which has windows in it :D ive tried and tested..

screen protectors are useless... ive tried using those and makes no difference on laptop as laptop screen is already protected when closed

If there is only 1 partition in a HDD and Windows is present in that partition, will I be able to create a new partition using Acronis without damaging the existing Windows installation?
Will it be a virtual partition or a real partition?
By real partition, I mean will I be able to install any other OS on the new partition without creating a virtual PC?(i.e while booting, will get an option of which OS I want to use just like if I had installed the new OS in a HDD which had two real partitions)

Will applying screen protector do any harm to the screen ???

I think most laptops come with a transparent plastic sheet fixed on the screen using tape to prevent any damage to the screen while the laptop is in transit. It acts as a pretty good screen guard.

Have you removed it already?

If you still have it lying around nearby, fix it on the screen again using some tape. My brother used it as a screenguard for around 1 year after he bought the laptop. But since no protection was necessary while the laptop was closed and also since it made the screen look glossy (i.e lots of reflections if working outdoors), he removed it.

Thanks for the info.

It will be a godsend for my friend who owns a HP Pavilion Desktop which came preinstalled with Vista Premium but he always wanted to install XP for playing games but was unable to do so since only one partition was there on which Vista was installed.
