Ok guys,
At last Finished building my rig:-
Opteron 165
Dfi UT nf4 ultra-d
Evga 7800 gt(445/1070)
Transcend 512mb ddr400 x 2
seagate baracuda 160 gb pata
Samsung 19" 955df
Audigy 2 ZS
Altec lansing ATP3
Benq 1640/Sony cd-rw
Pinnacle pctv stereo tv tuner card
Logitech MX518/Logitech momo racing steering wheel

After so many days of roaming here and there,i got Powersafe 600w After consulting deejay.
i was nervous at first abt its performance,but after seeing it at action i heaved a sigh of relief.
Powersafe power ratings:-
3.3v=24A
5V=30A
12V1=22A
12v2=22A
-12V=0.5A
+5VSB= 2A
It also has a blue led inside that lits up the whole cabinet and looks stunning.
All the wires are carefully sleeved in a net like resin.
It has plenty of molex connectors including
2 Sata connectors
1 pci-e connector(Very useful for connecting to Gfx card without using the interface cable)
Also all the molex connectors are very easy to remove and plug in.
Ok abt its performance:-
I checked all the voltages using everest ultimate edition 2.5
At idle:-
3.3v=3.30v
12v= 11.97-12.03v
5v= 5.03v

At load(I started 2 video encodings so both the cores were at 100% load):-
3.3v=3.28v
12v=11.97v(constant)
5v=5.00v(constant)

Also my opteron was at stock.
Also OT, but are these temps ok
idle=35c
load =46c(During the above video encodings)

3dmark03=15100
3dmark05=7210

nice stuff there ;) ..

anyways post some more pics of the PSU ...

and i think its a decent product and the voltage rails looks really gr8 ...

Can you get better pics of the PSU? and closeup if possible??

Also do 1 thing.

Start rthdribl and place affinity to CPU0 from task manager, then start prime on other core and keep the evertest or ITE smartguardian running while doing this and post the screenshow.

Wana see all the voltage lines. If these are good then it might be good PSU to have and one more expensive PSUs.

cost of psu please ? and please post better pics with some good close-up's. thanks.

Ok did that.
Here are some images i uploaded at imageshack

Note that the 12v rail was fluctuating between 11.90-11.97 during this period.
Will post psu close-ups tonight.
Also the rig i mentioned above,in that i have only changed 4 things:-
opty 165-18800/
dfi lanparty ultra-d=8500/-
powersafe 600w=5000/-
evga 7800gt=16500/-
the rest of my config was with me,i was with pentium 4 2.8 prescott at that time.
Only changed the above four parts since they were crucial.

Also i have starice and as5,but the thing is that my pentium 4 proccy has stuck to the copper base of starice.It is as stiff as it can get.Wont budge,the thermal paste layer between the two has somehow holding them tight.
Plz give me suggestions on how to seperate them?

Heat up that area on the StarIce heatsink using a hair dryer. So, that the AS5 which has hardened melts a little bit and loosens up....

i know someone who tried this- see if it works.

Put the p4 and the starice in a plastic bag and seal tightly shut. with a rubber band or something. then put in your freezer for few hours. the heatsink should just separate from the procy. twist a little when they are still in the bag.

Caution:

Remember not to open the bag till the contents are at room temperture. this is so that no condenstion happens on the procy.

hope it works for you.

Blue try using a DMM and see the voltages... Also post some big pics of the PSU if possible :)...

This wont work...... The AS5 would have hardened and got stuck. You need to heat it a little bit....

@ Nikhil, i too had informed him to use a hair dryer to heat up the joint. then twist the cpu a bit and remove, when he had called this late afternoon, perhaps blue is looking for confirmation from more members before he gets bold enough to try that ... ;) :)

@ blueyesdude ,
Why is ur PWM , Chipset, gfx card temps so high ??:huh: :no:

perhaps you need to install 1 or 2 fans over the chipset and PWM area to cool them ....it is very imp. to keep the pwm area cool more so since you are using a DC chip and are going to o/c it.

Damn, I know PWM temp on ultra d goes skyrocket with the Dual core processor but thats above 60.
Same with chipset temps.
You need some case cooling ASAP :P
Try to add 120mm fan in front of the chipset and 60/80mm fan near PWM.

the freezer method works becoause of differential expansion/cntraction of the two metals on iether side of the TIM layer.

But the hair dryer method may work too.

hmm maybe..... I have not done it....

but I have tried the hair dryer method.... and it definitely works :P

blueyesdude - please do something abt your PWM and NB temps its very high.

Go to lammy and get ur self 2 panflo 92mm fans and aim them at ur NB and PWMs.

well my gfx card rests over my nb fan.
I have no 92mm slot only 80 mm slot in my cabinet.
Even then how do i aim them?
My idle temps
mobo-53c
nb-55c.
are they still high at idle?
Also my cabinet is in sleeping position with one side panel completely removed,then what is the reason for such high temps?

Try something, try to tie the fan in front of the northbridge, or place something at bottom of the case and make 92mm stand on it so that it comes in front of northbridge throwing air onto it.

BTW which cabinet do you have??

It is a plain 2 year old vip cabinet.
also i dont think it wud be practical to tie a fan in front of my nb :bleh:
Wud u suggest me to change my cabby instead.Will it help in lowering those temps
