Bought sony ion ..should i apply screenguard to it or not?

It looks like it already has a screen protector already installed.

Can someone tell correct?

I don't think phone come with screen protectors installed OOB. From the photo, can't make out anything.. Maybe a local mobile shop can clear this out for you

My S does come with a factory installed screen guard. So I am guessing the same goes for Ion.

From the second photo you've uploaded it does look like it has a screen protector applied to it.. It seems @randomuser111 is indeed right. If his XS came with a pre-installed protector, yours might have it pre-installed too.
PS - My friend's SE Neo V had a screen protector in the box. It wasn't installed already but I guess times have changed. After all, its now Sony and not SE

All newer xperias come with a screen guard from factory.

The screen guards which have been supplied are the ones which provide shatterproof attribute to the phone. However, these screen guards are not very good at preventing the scratches so i think the reg screen guard is needed.
