Hello All,
A recent incident I have seen unfolding has made me to just write this for people especially guys who are still very young here and have much more to look forward to in life and career.
I will talk in brief about the incident first that makes me want to share a thought on this.
So recently a young boy who has been on trek with me few times since several years got arrested for murder and it all happen because in few seconds of fit of rage, he happened to kill someone.
When I met him he was this young teen and respectful but I could see changes in him due to peer pressure over the years . drinking, swearing around his friend circle and usual signs of growing up but in sort of a wrong way.
He is quite a young guy.
He killed someone in a moment of rage.
In that one moment he has destroyed his life and along with him few of his friends too who are part of his group and his family too . I know another guy from his group too and he was even more decent chap.
to be honest....I really cant blame him much also because I have gone through that age and in college life and in High school life . I have also got involved in few such moments where things easily get out of hand. Luckily I manage to get out of it without causing major incident.
Even my peer group had some crazy guys but I fortunately manage to not let them pressure me to change my lifestyle.
I know this is something which is part and parcel of growing up.
The rite of passage from Boyhood to Manhood is going to bring with it tremendous responsibility and pressure both in society and for you in your family.
But most important thing is to Just Be Yourself. Dont let peer, social pressure take you away from you.
I have faced rejection and it can be devastating feeling and it can bring all kind of emotions out. It took long time to get out of it. I started focussing on myself and my ambitions in life and I started attracting opposite sex too so Life will not wait for anyone... stop wasting time on people who dont value you or are not going to add anything to your life and infact create more problems. Come out of that so called friend circle who you know are not only be creating trouble but putting you in every now and then.
I realized that in the end most important thing is being focussed and cool under your skin and again just being yourself is best way to go through many ups and down of life instead of trying to impress or trying hard to be part of a certain group .
believe me 99% of the fights in your life with people complete strangers and even if you know those people are really not going to be worth it. Yes , there is 1% where you might have to take a stand for yourself or for your loved ones and incase that day happens , it is okay to accept your faith bravely too.
I only wish to share this because this incident has once again showed me ...How easy it is to f*ck it all up in life for stupid reasons and ego and matters that are trivial actually. Hoping many young guys here can take a hint or two about not fu**ing up their lives in such stupid way.
