i think u got an RMA as a upgraded drive for an older one and trying to pass it as new one :p
else, no reason why it should show 3years warranty left only

US and India warranties differ a lot, why do you quote Newegg and not dealer section on TE

I have 4 1.5TB Hdd's..ALL WD EARS 1.5TB 64Mb cache..All carry 5 yrs warranty:)

The op has also mentioned the Original Purchase Date : 13th Feb 2010. So it is very much possible that he didn't got an upgraded drive, but the warranty date showing 13 feb 2013 (exactly 3 years of purchase date) implies that for the RMA'ed drive the warranty date has been set manually.

I bought two Harddisks of 1TB Green and sold both
one was to iwanosky and other to krishna.chennai

Yeah, one was DOA, got a brand new HDD as replacement, other one was brand new - sold immediately first (deal thread) :p
the replacement was the second one sold offline :)
Both were sold with original bills and proper dates

got 1.5TB samsung, 1TB Seagate 7200.12 - long story

and for the record sir, both green drives had 5 years warranty, nice try by u though, u cant get away here

Guys, I was tight lipped just because i was waiting for the confirmation from WD about the Reduced Warranty Issue which has been updated in their database now till 25th Feb 2015.

Main post has been updated as well.

let me stop it here as the product is changed to 5 years warranty and the pricing is good!
