I concur. Reputed branded PCs come with good SMPS and genuine RAM, two most basic components which one would normally overlook in an assembled PC. Add good quality genuine RAM and a branded SMPS to an assembled PC and it is not cheap anymore, i.e., price comes comparable to a branded PC.draz said:ya...even i am totally against branded pcs...the thing is i had convinced a frd of mine for a assembled gaming pc and he ended up buying a junk smps which is screwing up his system.
u've to carefully choose what the vendor ( of branded PC) has to offer. Almost all branded PCs ship out with on-board graphics and the graphics card slot (AGP/PCI-E 16x) is usually missing. There shud be some select models available with an optional PCI-Ex 16x slot. Get it double clarified from the vendor that the model of ur choice has a PCI-E 16x slot. You cud always buy a good graphics card and get going with ur gaming.chic_magnet said:..but dunnno abt upgradibility..
not all, but some let you customize. But then again u get that option only if it is a bulk order (say 50 PCs or more).chic_magnet said:also any other mfg lets you choose your own components??
