The whitehouse spokesperson for counter terrorism John Brennan said they would soon be releasing enough information to settle any basis for doubts over his death. I'll take his word for it. He gave a long Q&A session, seems lots of thought has been put into the COA's (courses of action) on various stages. Things should become more clear over time.

My initial doubts are at ease for now.

CHINESE NEWS AGENCY: Pakistan Killed Osama, The US Just Swooped In At The End

The Chinese official news agency Xinhua is reporting that Osama Bin Laden was killed by Pakistani forces, and U.S. forces merely swooped in the pick up the body (via @crampell).

The report also claims that the helicopter that was shot down was Pakistani, not American.

This contradicts U.S. reports that U.S. special forces entered the compound and killed Bin Laden.

From Xinhua:

At about 1:20 a.m. local time a Pakistani helicopter was shot down by unknown people in the Sikandarabad area of Abbotabad. The Pakistani forces launched a search operation in the nearby area and encountered with a group of unknown armed people. A fire exchange followed between the two sides.

When the fire exchange ended, the Pakistani forces arrested some Arab women and kids as well some other armed people who later confessed to the Pakistani forces they were with Osama Bin laden when the fire was exchanged and Bin Laden was killed in the firing.

Local media reported that after the dead body of Bin Laden was recovered, two U.S. helicopter flew to the site and carried away the dead body of Bin Laden.

The report also suggests that Bin Laden may have been killed in the air crash, rather than in a fire fight.

China has a growing relationship with the Pakistani government, and is also expanding its influence into Afghanistan.

The Chinese will support Pakistan now that US has abandoned Pakistan they've become the lapdog of China. So this theory/press release by the state controlled Chinese media doesn't surprise me. I think communism will spill over into Pakistan.

Well speculations are already flying high that Pakistan had a major hand in the operation and they dont wanna take credit/divulge so as to avoid the backlash.

But i guess that is just another of the conspiracy theory originating from the experts of this game.. Our gfn neighbours.

Going by how OBL survived a missile attack after an ISI tip off, i find it hard to believe that US would want any intelligence or operation detail be shared.

OK here is something i found weird.

I am reading todays Mumbai Mirror, On Page 4 this is the point that i think is weird.

One of the Military helicopter suffered Mechanical Failure and made a hard landing within the compound, where it was later destroyed by the commandos

^^^ever seen Black Hawk Down(the movie)? they probably destroyed it to protect the sensitive equipment it had so that the pakistanis would not hand it over to their new adoptive masters in china - who would use it to reverse engineer the sensitive equipment and make their own copies.

That's exactly the reason as stated from within the White House. The chopper was damaged and the Seals blasted it to kingdom come to avoid anyone getting their hands on classified military tech.
