0-20k Bringing my old pc to life again

Hi !

I want to get my pc which is I suppose dead to life again ! I dont even remember the specs it use to have a 80gb hdd and a old asus main board and couple of ddr2 ram and ofcourse a power supply.

I want to start it again for my dad he loves those card games and may be a little social networking.
What would be the minimum cost to upgrade it ?
or would be a better option to buy a low end laptop and save some space too ?
