Hello Gurus,

I am planning to shifting from MTNL Dial Up to Sify Broadband (price hike by MTNL:mad: )

I don't know anything about lan card/ethernet card to be used for BroadBand connection.

Can any one of you suggest me which to buy (brand) and what specification to be check before buying? And at what price should I go?

Thanks

Any 10/100/1000Mbps NIC would do. D-Link 538TX can be had for less than
500/- I think. If you're on a LAN and need to transfer large volume of data
around, get a Gigabit (1000Mpbs) NIC from Intel. These cost more than 1500/-
though.

buy a 300 bux lan card this will be more than enough ;)

I got a D-link 5700TX 10/100Mbps LAN card, picked it up for around 290 bucks around 4-5 months back. So that would be the expected amount you'd have to pay on a decent card.

And yeah, while *any* LAN card would do .. pay attention to quality (which is why we recommend the D-Link at the very least). Some of the generic brands (Intex, Zebronics.. etc) have pathetic performance and build quality is nothing to write home about either.
