BroadBand Services - PUNE - katraj - bibwewadi area
looking for 512/1 mb broadband services in PUNE - katraj - bibwewadi area.

if you are from same area, which one you are using?
suggestion for service providers?

Looking for reliable services with economy.

go for tindicom, NU plans, a little costly nowadays wtill nothing beats them. You also have the option of BSNL if you could get one easily, or even the BSLN EV-DO.

One of my office colleague lives in the area adjoining Katraj and he has TATA Indicom. Reliance were too unwilling to give a connection. BSNL was not even interested..... :( Anyway all the ISP's have a downtime problem which is region specific. As in the DSLamp in my area is kept near a hospital whose power fails very frequently and hence I get the most down times. So check around your area. Yes you will have to do quite some homework; and this is to be done just to ensure good service.

Try getting airtel.
I've had it for over 2 yrs now...almost no downtimes, gettting speeds in excess of what I'm paying for, great customer service, and pretty reasonably priced.

@all

Thanks for input

dint know hairTel is available in babewadi/ starroad area.

Ok so option are ..

BSNL 500 NU --- But CC is too bad.
Airtel - good CC but expensive
tata - bad CC ...

Check if you get Airtel in that area. I stay on NIBM Road and have been on Airtel for almost two years now. Total downtime = 5 minutes!! Like iamddevil said, I constantly get speeds in excess of what my plan is. Never had to call customer service, so can't comment on that. But anytime I've ever been to their main office at Swargate, it's been a pleasure dealing with them.

Tata Indicom, on the other hand, are an absolute bunch of turds. My girlfriend has a Tata Indicom connection. She was having a few problems so I called up their customer service people and those asswipes don't know shit! Their standard responses are either, "Our server is down for maintenance. Please try in some time." or, "We'll send someone with 12 hours." Bloody rubbish. Downtime is also pretty sad. Around five or six times in the first month of the connection. When the connection works, it works fine. Would be much more bearable if they improved their customer service. I guess they assume that all the people that call CS are technologically retarded.

A friend of mine staying close-by is on BSNL. Never really had any major issues. Downtime is not as bad as Tata Indicom, but it happens from time to time. But I guess they get it resolved quickly, otherwise he would've been complaining about it a lot!

This is so true. There is no escalation matrix in place. I mean if the CS guys are helpless and we want to escalate any issues there is no scope. I found this out once when my connection was off for almost a week. And after spending almost 400 buxx I got reimbursed Rs 300 odd in internet time. Go figure !! I'm tired of this connection but I have no other choice so I cant do anything about it. If Reliance WiMax comes here then I'm gonna get it ASAP.

BSNL has almost no downtime and even if they have it its for a very short time so its almost NIL unless their telephone cables get uprooted or go missing

Like he said, I've had Airtel for more than a year here in kalyaninagar and the total downtime hasn't exceeded 5 mins. Excellent CC to, whenever i've had to call for any billing queries or some such. I've NEVER called till date for any technical problem, so thats a real feather in their cap.

Plus the speeds you get are usually above average for the plan you subscribe for, i.e im on the 1mbps ul plan, and this is what i get
