BSNL En Nanban Super Plan Validity options?

Currently i have a 'En Nanban Super Plan' BSNL SIM with unlimited free calls to a landline but the validity expires in couple of months.
So i just searched around a bit and found that only Rs.55 and Rs.550 top ups can be used to extend validity.

BSNL Now Offers En Nanban Super Plan For Free in Tamilnadu
Chennai Telephones-En- Nanban -> This link says Rs.550 topup gives 1 year validity but the BSNL prepaid page says 180 days! Has anyone tried it out?

Does anyone using this SIM tried out other top up plans and do they work?
Is it possible to change the 1p/s tarrif to 49/min for all w/o affecting the free calls to landline?

Nanban -> Friend

The SIM and plan was TN specific i guess and thus the Tamil Name.

Also i want to know how good is the BSNL website for online recharge?
Does it have frequent transaction failures? Is the return of money to account in case of failed transaction a smooth process like say IRCTC?
Also do we really have to register in that site to do recharge?

Yes you do have to register before recharging through that portal.

I'd recommend Online Mobile Recharge | Online Recharge Free | Prepaid Recharge for Airtel, Vodafone, Reliance, Idea, Tata Indicom, BSNL, Docomo, Tata Indicom, Aircel, Videocon, Loop, Uninor, MTS, S Tel I used it many times, and they did return me my money in case of failed transactions within 2 days.
