Qued 15GB of stuff today , Hope its still same for tonight:P.Will update ya.

But when i checked usage records uptill now it dint reflect anything between 2am to 8am.

According to their records i downloaded nothing..Lolz:rofl:

2 Days Downtime finally paid off.

Chk out speeds during this time .Still above expectations.(2Mbps)

:O nice. on a side note, whats that app you're using to show cpu speed and network traffic on desktop?

its normal here, slight power fluctuation cause this in my case, I dont have UPS.

Such speed bumps are not reliable, even with small interference or modem/server reset the speed comes back to normal.

This kind of stuff used to happen on my friends' and my own airtel connection frequently six months ago.

Guess they got it fixed :(

Im sure your line speed has been increased to 8mbps. A friend of mine was given a similar pipe but lasted for just the first 2 months.

Here is my modem page showing the down limit as 2045.

is that for all or they were just testing for specific region?
i used 550 plan about a year ago and i was using a separate modem that i bought from outside but i didn't notice any speed change

I dont want to dampen your spirits but the speed shown in IDM when you are downloading from file sharing sites like Rapidshare, Depositfiles etc is not very accurate. For most cases like downloading from Mediafire or from other servers is accurate but for some reason, the speed shown while downloading from Rapidshare is not at all correct.
For the 1st few parts of the file, i get very low download speed(60kB/s) but after 50-60% has been downloaded, the speed suddenly increases. Sometimes I have even seen 2MB/s and once even saw 5MB/s for around 20 seconds.
I dont understand why this happens. It seems as if the downloaded content is being buffered somewhere. Even though it is showing me 60kB/s, it is downloading at a much faster rate to somewhere else and after the download has finished there, suddenly the speed of transfer to my PC increases.
But since you have actually downloaded 12GB in 6 hours, you may actually be getting that speed.

Also the speedtest result that you posted is not that great. Just today I did a speedtest from speedtest.net. From Chennai server, I got dl rate of 18Mb/s, from Delhi server 14Mb/s. When I chose a server in the US, I got 5Mb/s. Getting high dl speeds when connecting to servers in India is common but since I got such high speed from an US server, it got me thinking.
But since by connecting is very unstable for the last 2 days, I am not able to connect to internet for a prolonged time. Next time I am online, I will conduct the tests again and post the screenshots.

@killerz Which modem/router are you using?
