Introduction of new Broadband Home Plans

The Competent authority has decided to introduce the following three new Broadband Home Plans as per details given below:-



Service Tax Extra

2. The above plans will be implemented only where there is a spare capacity of landline and broadband service.

3. All other terms and conditions will remain the same.

4. The above tariff will be effective from 1st August, 2008.

WTH SO THEY ARE GIVING 256kbps for affordable rates with harsher download limits and also with no night unlimited WAT A DOUCHE!!!!! other countrys are giving >10mbps internet connection WE WANT A FRIGGIN FAST INTERNET CONNEXION

We are in India buddy,Dont blame BSNL.Name service providers in india giving more then 2MB speed with rates and ofcourse night unlimited also.

Its even worse that the existing plans..:@
 
Nahi re.... consider those who use internet just for e-mail and some official work in rural towns. Its quite good for them to be connected with net at such a cheap rate with decent speeds.

the cheapest bsnl plan at 250rs is better. Its also 2mbps :)

buddy, seriously, this 2mbps thing on 1GB limit will ruin you with extra usage charges

atleast i would get 256kpbs.

i still remember, year back due some malware my bill has jumped to 2.5k against expected 1k.
 
10 Mbps?? We do have here 8Mbps broadband from Airtel, Bsnl. Etc.. But they are verx expensive with monthly rent Rs 16K..
 
Ths is worse i would never go wit this ... i am on UL750 bt only wit a 256kBps connection:( :( :no: i hope they make it 1Mbps connection atleast arue u listenin BSNL PPl....:@ I used to get max of 224kpps(500 plan) in utorrent wit atleast 30-35 files including seeding and downloadin. now i g et max of 26kpps.(256/8=32):(
 
Well i am in Houston right now...abt 8 miles frm downtown and this place has Comcast cablenet and the fastest plan offered here(as in the zip code i am in) is 768k....

So its not like everyone everywhere has 10mbps+ connections...
 
^ true that. Here in the UK, the fastest is Be Broadband with 24 mbps, but is available only in selected places like London, most people here are on ADSL from ISPs like Virgin, Tiscali.

I am on a 8Mbps Unlimited plan on Tiscali paying 14.99 (around Rs 1200 ?) quid a month, but barely getting 1-2 Mbps, and on the average it stays on 512k.

So it seems that the Broadband situation in india is not too bad, since everyone can afford to pay for a broadband now Rs 350 a month isnt too expensive for 1.8 Gb datalimit a month.

The tata option for 2 Mbps unlimited is also quite nice.
 
bsnl simply sucks....they keep advertising 2mbs speed.....do they think all customers are lame users...who don't understand that the damn limit will be over in a day if used properly....

bsnl sucks....

This is a crock of schiess - if U take any BSNL broadband plan without a unlimited DL- U end up paying hundreds of rupees over and above the fixed sum. Then the service is appalling. BSNL is still in the stone age of Land line fones.
 
i have home250 plan
speed is very good........but limit of 1GB:@

first month i used my plan dad told me that it was "unlimited plan" n that was on 15 of that month
so i used is as i want downloading what i want & on 8th of next month bill came of 15.5K Rs:S as i downloaded 17GB 1GB +EXTRA 16GB i was chrged that much.

n then i stopped downloading after bill came ...n bill than month was 3.5K

so total bill was about 19K :bomb:

i didn't bothered asking my dad to verify if plan is UNLimted or not coz..............
my dad is JTO in B.S.N.L just now promoted to S.D.E .

in that 19K i would have got 8800GTS SLI at that time
now i am plaiing to get HOME 500 plan
 
^ Consider the home 500C plan as well....the DL limit is a little less....but you may do well with it if you disable flash using flashblock on firefox and possibly even disable images at times. The night unlimited is more than enough if you have a few good pvt tracker accounts.
