yeah that's what I did, 6 is for information about all active STVs and it says I will get the information via SMS but the SMS never comes.

Try *123*10# for data balance

If that works try 1 to 10 in place of '?' in following USSD to get various other information

*123*?#

Does not work. Only option seems to be calling 1503 and getting account number and then there is a web link where I can check the balance.
But that damn 1503 is not connecting, all lines busy everyone. Need to keep trying.
 
^^Then use MyDataUsage app..............this will keep u updated how much u have used !!

Yes but that is a sort of mobile/client side solution and will give me what "I think" i have used. Not what BSNL says. I am going to try dialing that 1503 to get account number and if it does not get dialed then i will go to nearby BSNL exchange and ask them the account number.
 
Strange, Never had such problems. My SMSes come promptly.
I don't even have an alternate phone for now so have told my friend to get a phone to office tomorrow which accepts normal sim. I have iPhone which accepts only micro sim and I do not wish to cut out the sim as of now.
