How much is the GST? I'm guessing it would be around the 5-12% mark. If that is the range, then nothing will be cheaper since GST will be added to price.

Nope it would be at max 20% -24% something.

But all other taxes like excise and all have to go.

And centre have to pass percentage to state from gst.

But here lies the problem.State wants freedom on certain items which cant be done in gst regime.

Plus service tax have to go but centre doesnt look interested in doing so.

Hence same situation of dual taxation on similar line of vat and octroi applicable happens.

In short clarification is not clear in draft and it might give certain states upper hand hence opposition not keen or same and center is not strong enough to impose it.

What are we getting back in return ? All these money goes into politician pockets..

Pathetic government service, bad roads, bad medical government hospital... At the end, we end up paying money to them as bribe + private hospital expense etc etc.. Paying a lot and get nothing.. It's our politicians goal i guess!!!!!!!!
