I saw an interesting lappy advertised in the Hindu today...

20 K for an 14.1 WXGA Acer Celeron M with 256 MB

Add another Gig of Ram and you have a serious VFM solution that performs nearly equal to a Single core AMD64 3000+
 
Nopes, you are badly mistaken, it's a Celeron M and not a celeron and the two are as similar as a whale to a horse...

The Celeron M as a proccy is almost nay, pretty much as good as an Athlon 64 single core performancewise...

google for Celeron M benchmarks to get more details
 
hey can anyone get me the price of Aspire 5584? The dealers here in chennai are saying it comes to around 57k, but compareindia.com says it is around 49k(which was also the price deepak,from this forum, told me), so either compareindia is wrong or the dealers in chennai haven't still updated their price list(and i'm really hoping these dealers are wrong). Thanks a lot!
P.s. i think there are two models Aspire 5584NWXMi and 5584WXMi(one with vista and one with linux, i'm just speculating...), acer.co.in still doesnt have the details...
