PC Peripherals Budget PC upgrade under 10K

My cousines 2 year old mobo died recently. He want to upgrade it nw. Budget is 10K (+2k Max)

Suggest..
1. Intel core2duo and mobo. I think ASUS mobo would be nice. Suggest a good mobo so that i dont require a gfx card. I have 22" Samsung 2233sw LCD. (Or do i need a gfx card? Not into gamming. Just for web, movies, TV and adobe photo shop)
2. 2GB Ram. I already have a 2gb transcend ram, so if i want to make it 4gb, should i got for one more 2gb transcend stick, or can i chose another brand like ocz or cosair?
3. Good PSU which runs quite.
4. Descent Cabinet (optional - he got bored looking at his old i-ball cabby. Will get a new one only if it fits in budget)

Where do you get Intel E5200/5300 ~2.3K
it might be 3.3k or 3.2K
 
Athlon II X2 II X2 - 240 2.8GHz, 2MB, AM2-3250/-

AMD770 M3A78 16x,8 ch S,L -4150/-

2gb ddr 2 would cost abt 1400-1800depending on brand

smps any of ur choice same goes with psu..assuming 1.6k for ddr2 ram price would be around 9k for these 3..and then you have about 3k for your psu and your cabinet :)

this is based on deltapage.com prices if your from places like mumbai, delhi or b'lore expect a possibility that prices would be 200-400 more or less..hope its less though :)
 
Thanks for your suggestions... i finalized on the following configs.

Athlon II X2 250 (4100/-)

Biostar TA785GE 128 M (4156/-) or (is there any other gud alternative in gigabyte.. as i heard its more reliable)

or

E5300: 3.6k

Gigabyte GA-EG45M-DS2H (6510/-) or Asus P5Q-EM (6788/-) or Asus P5Q-VM (6069/-)

Among these which one would be best. And is it worth spending extra 2k on intel?

This will be used by my cosine.. he is non-techy guy.... So i need reliable stuff which would run long for atleast next 2 or 2.5 without any hardware
 
Go for the AMD config it has much batter igp than intel. If going for intel e7500 5.8k +gigabyte G31-ES2L 2.4k =8.2k or e5300 3.3k + gigabyte G31-ES2L 2.4k=5.7k would batter than e5300 + G45 mobo imo G45 with e5300 would be a waste
 
Athlon II x2 240 - 3.2k ( save 0.9k on this , a 200Mhz overclock is easy )

asus 740G - 2.3k

5k total

go for gigabyte superb 460 - 2.2k and zebby bijli ( 1.2k to 1.7k)

9k total.
 
@OP... since the board was 2yrs old... did you consider sending it for replacement ?

PS: Do not consider 740G ased boards.. they are am2 (HT 1.0) consider atleast 760G.

and Athlon II X2 240 can be unlocked to opteron with unlocked multiplier... using sb710/750 ofcourse(via ACC) something to consider :)
