Hi,
My cousin gonna buy her first mobile.
She like to SMS,text and interested in FB,twitter like all other all young ppl.
Not old fashion like me. :bleh:
My uncle don't want to spend more that 3K.
Sadly hard to find a good mobile under that budget.
So,please help me to find suitable one.


1. Q: Budget?
A: 3K


2. Q: Preferred Form Factor(flip, bar, slider)?
A: Bar


3. Q: Preferred display type?
A: TFT


4. Q: Do you have any brand preference or dislike? Please name them.
A: Should be good.I don't want any mobile which will gone kaput within a month.


5. Q: Preferred input method (Touchscreen, QWERTY, etc.)?
A: QWERTY must.


6. Q: Camera required or not? If required, please specify type like front camera/flash/etc.
A: At least VGA Camera expecting.


7. Q: Preferred operating system? (Android, Symbian, iOS, Windows Phone etc).
A: Easy to use any OS.


8. Q: Preferred connectivity options? (3G, Wifi, Edge etc).
A: At least EDGE(I can't expect Wifi,3G @3K)


9. Q: What is your intended use for this phone(internet, camera, multimedia, mails, etc)?
A: Camera, mails and internet(don't know even these features exit under that low budget).


10. Q: Any other requirements?
A: If the price difference is min 500/- can go for Single SIM.
If not the Dual SIM is good to go ?


11. Q: If you have already considered a phone then please mention the model.
A: Nokia 205 ?

BTW,do wee need Java & Flash Player to run games and video on mobile ?

Sadly C3 is out of budget.
What's the cheapest price of Nokia 200 ?
I have no experience with Spice,Micromax,Karbonn etc brands.
I only uses Motorola,Nokia,LG,Fly till now.

You have rightly considered the Asha 205. The only con is that it doesn't support whatsapp! :-P Try to find a Nokia X2-01 at some local store. It trumps Asha 205 on most areas except multi-sim support

You can install java apps but I think there's just 9MB internal memory and from what I've read so far, it does not fare better than the X2-01. I've seen the X2-01 so I know its display is absolutely good for the price it sells. A 65k display should theoretically have some banding in comparison to a 256k screen.
Also, X2-01 has a micro-USB port for connecting it with a PC which the Asha 205 lacks.
If your cousin is into texting, I'm sure she and her friends would appreciate texting over whatsapp which supports transferring of music, pictures, videos for free over a data connection.
Now why would Nokia release an Asha 205 when it could have just added a second sim slot to an X2-01 and make it X2-012 or something :P

I will looking for Nokia X2-01.
Online shop sited saying "This Item is Permanently discontinued."
If lucky may be I will get under 3K from local shop.
If not then 205 is the only choice for now.
I don't know why they do not add 3G with these cheap QWERTY mobile and increase Rs.500/- more.
That's may be best for budget users.

I am using Asha 201 from last 3 weeks and it is fine. X2-01 is discontinued and in comparison 201 is lighter phone, designed better and has a good old 2 MP camera woith Social app for FB, Twitter. Whatsapp is there too but I have not tested it yet. Keypad is very good no doubt.

Tried to find Nokia X1-01 but no luck.
Only new mobiles.
Saw Nokia 206 when I was checking shops.
206 look great and priced 3.6K which I guess overpriced compare to other ?

Can anyone please tell me best price for Nokia 200(Online deal or local shop price).
And anyone would like to suggest mobile shop from Kolkata so I can check if Nokia X2-01 still available or not for last time.
