Buy speakers for using at home.

I wanna buy speakers for music at home. Budget is 3k at max. I've kinda shortlisted two speakers:

1. Altec Lansing VS2721E Speaker
2. Creative SBS A520 Speaker

Maybe it seems rather obvious to some people, But I'm kinda perplexed. So I'd like to know your views and advice on which would be better ?

Also, if there is anything better do let me know.
