Well called up the Sony helpline number and they said to download from Official PlayStation website,later checked the safety and support booklet and there it is eu.playstation.com so i think PS3 sold here are having Euro ver.

Its too sonn to get a modchip...currently every hacker is working on Soft modding the PS3...

Hi,

Im going to buy a PS3 40gb. Deciding between importing it from the US (400$ ~ 16k rs) and buying it in India with warranty. I wanted to know :

a. If I import it from US, and it dies, will Sony India repair it for a fee?
b. If I buy from India with warranty, I would want to get a 2-3 year warranty. Which shops give an option to buy an extended warranty?
c. What is the current lowest price for the PS3 with warranty in India?
d. Is it worth it to import from the US and save 5-6k rs, and take the risk of it dying?

b. Why are you so worried about warranty. The box normally does break unless you do something wierd with it. As for the firmware updates which broke the PS3's last time. I would recommend you not to update your firmware when it is released. Check forums and see what people have to say about it then you update it.

Otherwise the box should work flawlessly.

yeah ps3 is the only console with the least no of issues. you need not have to worry abt its warranty

You mean only from US ? What about Singapore/Hong Kong ?
