Buying budget PC without Monitor, keyboard & mouse

I had yesterday gone to Nehru Place to get the above but I was stuck as I was not able to find Gigabyte 880GMA-UD2H
and MSi 785GM-E51. I was able to find MSi 785GM-P45 at one shop and he was selling it for Rs.3900/-.

Can u suggest some other decent 785G mobo which is upto Rs.3500/-

Secondly, I find Corsair SCO400CX For Rs.2600/- and FSP Saga II 500W Power Supply for Rs.2300/-. Which one is better to buy?

I also found Seasonic S12 II Bronze 520W Rs.2000 only at:

http://www.techenclave.com/members-market/seasonic-s12-ii-bronze-520w-rs-182276.html

Pls tell which one should i go for?

Get the Seasonic Power Supply grab it before somebody else does it's a steal :) as for board I doubt you have much choice will post as soon as find any alternatives.

Seasonic power supply has already been sold. My bad...

Yesterday, I was suggested Biostar TA785G3 by many vendors who were selling this mobo for Rs.3900/- but i was not aware of its features and its reviews. Pls tell abt it.

same here, was in delhi for new years, was not able to get the 880GMA board anywhere, finally had to buy the 880GM and build a rig for a friend. Now i am back in bangalore and my search for 880GMA still continues.

Many people have suggested me to go with MSi 785G mobos but the problem is which one is the best VFM product when compared to Gigabyte 880GMA.

MSi 785GM-E51 is around Rs.3800/- but what abt other mobos from MSi and its quality etc.

Sir,

I hv read that Phenom II X2 555BE can be converted to X4 by unlocking in 90% cases. Is it true?

I would request to suggest me only two different mobos one upto Rs.3000/- and another upto Rs.4500/- and then I will chose accordingly keeping in mind that I will not be updating my system soon and not to SSD in upto next 3-4 yrs. Even for the gaming part, i will not be buying a graphic card in a year as i don't play much nor am i going to allow my kids to play much.

Just one thing more, how is VIP series of SMPS?

Regards

Friends,

Today i again went to nehru place and hv purchased the following:

1. 500 GB HDD - Seagate - Rs.1700/-
2. 2 GB Corsair - Rs.1080/-

But the problem is that I was not able to find AMD X3 445 anywhere in NP. Nor were the following mobos avlb::S

MSi 785GM-E51
MSI 785GM-E65
Gigabyte GA - MA785GMT-UD2H

The available mobos for AMd were:

Asus M4A78LT-M-LE - Rs.2600/-
MSi 785 GM P-45 - for Rs.6900/- with X3 440

AMd X3 440 was for Rs.3300/- and X4 635 was for Rs.4000/-

AMd X2 555 BE was for Rs.4100/-

SMPS available were:

CM 460w Extreme power Rs.2700/-
FSP Saga II 500W - Rs.2600/-

Corsair VX400w, Seasonic S12II - 430w and Gigabyte Superb 460w were not available anywhere in NP.:(

NOW PLS HELP REG. WHAT SHOULD I BUY FROM THE ABOVE......

AMd X3 440 was for Rs.3300/- and X4 635 was for Rs.4000/-

X4 635 is better than X3 440. Get Gigabyte 880g mobo for 4.5K and if you want 785G only, then search...

SMPS available were:

CM 460w Extreme power Rs.2700/-
FSP Saga II 500W - Rs.2600/-

Buy FSP Saga II 500w as it is better than CM460w Extreme and is cheaper too.

MOBO - Gigabyte GA-74GMT-S2 ~ 2.4k/Asus M4A78LT-M LE~2.7k
GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket AM3 - GA-MA74GMT-S2 (rev. 1.4)

"Due to chipset spec limitation, if you install AM3 CPU on this motherboard, the system bus speed will downgrade from HT3.0 (5200MT/s) to HT1.0 (2000 MT/s); however, the frequency of AM3 CPU will not be impacted. Please refer "CPU Support List" for more information."

Will this make any difference ? Is there any alternative available with gigabyte (I dont want to buy asus)

But what does the HT bus does in a pc?

If you can get any other mobo other than P45, then I would suggest to wait a little bit and then buy, may be next week some more stuff comes to NP which could be of your choice.

FSP Saga II 500W is listed at Rs 2100 at SMC's site, I am not sure why higher price is being quoted at the shop, FSP Saga is also listed at Mediahome's website, why dont you inquire with him too?? There also the price is listed at Rs 2100 for the Saga 500W

Today i contacted SMC via email and they send me the quotations for the following:

SMPS

Seasonic S12II 430W -3300RS
FSP SAGAII 500w @ 2150 rs

We would suggest you to go for either of the following products as they offer better value for money.

Cooler Master Extreme Power 500 W – Rs 2800

Cooler Master Extreme Power 600 W – Rs 3400

Cooler Master GX550 – Rs 4200 (5 year warranty)

REAL POWER 460 W- Rs 3350-WITH 5 YEAR warranty

Rohit, how much are you willing to spend on the processor and mainboard? I am asking as I had ordered the X3 440 and the GA-880GM-UD2H from ITWares last week and received these yesterday. I paid 7500/- for the processor + mainboard and 350/- as shipping to Shillong.

As you mentioned, the Gigabyte 880GM-UD2H is not available in Delhi and is anyways hard to find elsewhere. If you are okay with buying it online (considering that you can avail the warranty in Delhi if you need to), my suggestion is to get the board from Rahul (ITWares). The board is rock solid and has good reviews online.

Just my 2 cents.

Can u pls tell me yr full configration and the price at which bought...

Secondly, Is there any method of checking how much power will my PC components will use?

My current configuration:

AMD X3 440 ----------------------

Gigabyte GA-880GM-UD2H ---------------------- Combo from ITWares, Mumbai for 7500?- plus 350/- (Shipping)

Corsair XMS3 2x2GB DDR3 @ 1600MHz ---------------------- Had this from December, 2009

320GB WD Blue SATA Drive ---------------------- Rs. 1800/- (locally in Shillong. Expensive, I know)

CM 590 Chassis ----------------------

Corsair VX450 Power Supply ---------------------- Had these from last year

About power consumption, I use an APC UPS and it shows that on full load, my system is pulling close to 200 Watts. I don't know how accurate this is.

I may put up my CM 590 and VX450 for sale along with the HD4670 as I need a new HTPC Chassis (which apparently comes with its own Power Supply) and a new HD5xxx series card. Open to offers.

Have you tried to OC the PC?

I don't intend to OC the system as I am going to use it as a HTPC. However, as per the reports online, the board will let you OC as well as unlock the 4th core, which again, depends on your luck.
