Laptops Buying Dell XPS, need suggestions

Guys, Got the lappy! Thanks to all for the valuable inputs.

After a long wait, ordered XPS on 27th May, Order confirmed on 29th, EDD 9th June, Delivered on 3rd June!!

I still have to place my hands on the lappy since i'm not in bangalore.
Will post the pics in this thread once i get it here (in another 15 days maybe)

Config is:

C2D T9300
Vista Home Premium
WXGA+ (1440x900) TFT Display
3GB RAM
200GB SATA 7200RPM Hard Drive
Internal 8X DVD+/-RW Combination Drive
256MB GeForce 8600M GT
Intel 4965AGN Wireless-N Mini-Card
6-cell Lithium Ion Battery
Dell Nylon Backpack
3-year XPS Premier Service with 3-year CompleteCover

Made a few changes in the last minute, like going for T9300 instead of T8300 and
opting 3 yr complete cover instead of 2 yr warranty.

Lappy was made in india, got the LG screen, HDD is from Seagate.
DVD drive is from TEAC (Not sure which company is this)

BTW, above config was costing 91K, got it for 60K :)

How do you get that at such a lower prize ? I mean its unbelievable !
As per the Dell site My configuration costs :
System Total (Price inclusive of delivery but exclusive of tax) : Rs 57,221.00
Total Amount After Tax : Rs 64,293.52 (+ Octroi If applicable)

And I have PMed Shakensoul for the discount but it seems that the heavy discount period is over for the time because he said that discounted prize would be around 59-60k.(+ Octroi If applicable) Well I have PMed him again but yet to receive his reply.

It would be helpful to me if you can enlighten some info about the discount.

By the way here is the changes which I made to the basic model,

Basic Model Prize : 47882
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo Processor T8100 : + 4568
15.4" Widescreen WXGA (1280x800) TFT Display with TrueLife(TM): + 1597
Hard Drive Partition, Primary Size 60GB in C Drive, Remainder in D Drive: + 566
Dell(TM) Nylon Backpack : + 1477
Dell(TM) Bluetooth Travel Mouse : + 1131
So the total prize before tax but inclusive delivery : 47882 + 4568 + 1597 + 566 + 1477 + 1131 = 57,221

And Somewhere in the forum I have read that we can discuss about discount with the account manager after placing the order but the question is from how much lower prize should we start bargaining ? and How much can I expect ?

I was told to wait for some 3 weeks before placing the order.
Was wondering why, May be that was the period of heavy discounts.
(Was intending to buy in last week of april, but was asked to hold on till 20th may)

And with dell, the higher the config, more the discounts.(Mine was costing 91K )
With the basic model you will not get much discounts, since i'd asked a quote
on inspiron, and discount for that was very less compared to XPS series.

I'm not sure from what lower prize should u can start bargaining, discussion
about discount with the account manager after placing the order, either.
Some one who got a good discount by bargaining should be able to help on this.

Congratulations:clap:..Please tell me the hardware Id of your screen.
 
31k discount is unbelievable...

I need the XPS1530 too. Shakensoul managed to get me a decent 5.5k discounted quote on the default config...Tying a few other sources before placing order...
