Buying from US - Best Deals - Discussion Thread

Not really. These were going for ~$70 and ~$150 respectively all through October.

Also, I could not checkout from TigerDirect as India is/was not listed in their list of countries. However, they do have a storefront on Amazon.

I ordered my Samsung 830 128gb using this very method. It actually turned out to be cheaper than TD itself.

1. My Post was wayyy back in Sept when the prices dropped :P

2. Indian CC works, but you need a freight forwarder to handle the address and shipping stuff.

I bought it for $72 on 29th October I think. No coupons used. TD was having a daily sale so I picked it up. For some reason, I could not register my CC billing address with TD. However, the TD Amazon storefront also listed this item for $69.99 with $2.x shipping, and NO TAX.

It would have cost me ~$10 more had I ordered directly from TD.

Lucked out, I guess.

Had it shipped via SNS and got it on 6th Nov. Was quite impressed, TBH. Hurricane Sandy was strumming her guitar at that point.

2. Could you register your card?

I want to buy:

Amazon.com: Mediasonic HF2-SU3S2 ProBox 4 Bay Hard Drive Enclosure with USB 3.0 & eSATA: Electronics

Amazon doesn't ship this to India. What is the best option to bring it to India?

I asked ibhejo.com to list it and they have listed it 13365/-.

https://www.ibhejo.com/Mediasonic-H...d-Drive-Enclosure-with-USB-3.0-and-eSATA.html

I was hoping to get it around 10k mark. Any other options? How much do you think SnS is going to charge?

Help me experts @varkey @kuduku and others. :)

ask ibhejo to list Sold by Mediasonic Store link , price is less $120 only or buy yourself and use hopshop with first kg off coupon . With hopshop you will have to pay for 3 kgs , so 4* 6 =$24 + duty + fuel surcharge + fedex charges . Will be +/- 10k as currency conversion will be at 58 so will be above 10k.... @prime

@prime : Try iShopInternational, I tried an online quote and it comes to Rs 10050 after the christmas promo code (Rs 500 off)

If you get it through HopShopGo, shipping incl insurance, fuel surcharge etc will be $33, total $153 ~ Rs 8800 and customs plus fedex charges will be approx 1.8k ie around 10.6k

I'd go for iShopInternational, provided the actual quote is 10-10.5k.

Their exchange rate seems to be quite high, paying in $ using CC might be a better option.
Applicable Exchange Rate:
1 USD = 57.8651689843 INR
(includes all fees and charges)
