I was going to buy an entry level laptop for around 30-35k but the i saw the logitech keyboards for ipad and thought why not go for an ipad instead.

I have checked out ipad 3 and 4 and decided to go for ipad 4 as it seemed more futureproof.

1.Now my confusion is can i do my work ( browsing and msoffice stuff ,leave multimedia for now) as efficiently on an ipad as on a laptop?
2.Also should i get a 3g model or not? because i feel with a 10" tab i dont think i would be doing much browsing on the go
3.Is 32gb enough or should i o for the 64gb one? ( i wont b putting any music in the ipad)

Any help is appreciated

First of all if u plan to do lot of ms office stuff and typing I would suggest a laptop anyday. This is my personal opinion.

If you do buy an iPad and you do not see yourself ever using it out of your house, then I won't suggest paying extra for the 3G model. I personally own a 3G model and have never used a 3G part. Also If you have a hotspot capable mobile then for those occasional requirement of Internet on the go you can always tether your mobile.

32GB seems fine for your requirement.

Still my final word would be laptop.

Im not going to do alot of msoffice only a few presentations on word or powerpoint or excel for my college work. So are there apps available similer to msoffice on ios ( i will JB) ?
I felt the same way about the 3g tht i have a Samsung S2 whch i can use for wifi hotspot
I heard that ipad apps and games are huge in size lik 1-2gb thats y i m concerned about the inbuilt space though i did see the external memory card extensions for the ipad

Microsoft was going to release office for iPad, not sure if it is released or not. There are couple of apps like quickoffice pro and all but i believe they won't have all functions of MS Office.
Jailbreaking for you is out of question as all new iPads will come with iOS 6.1.4 or iOS 7 later.
iPad apps vary in size and no they are not 1-2GBs except some heavy apps and high end graphics games. Most apps are reasonable size. Believe me 32 GB will be enough for your requirement.

I cant JB o_O . This i dint know . And this would be a big negative
R u sure there isnt anyway?[DOUBLEPOST=1374762747][/DOUBLEPOST]Dont know about ios 7 but i did see a jb for 6.1.4
also do you think android would be better for my use??

To be honest, none of the portable os's are even competent to make use of ms word and ms excel with any serious productivity.

A laptop is still the king of productivity on the go and with your primary requirements, it would be a mistake to go the tablet way.

I did not say it was my primary requirement . I asked specifically about this as i know about the ipads performance in other areas like gaming
What i am confused about is how customizable the ipad is ? and if i could do a little msoffice work on it like make a word document

I am 101% sure about no JB for 6.1.4. Anyone saying otherwise is wrong. Do not fall for any website claiming to have JB for 6.1.4. There is none.

ok i trust you on that.[DOUBLEPOST=1374836416][/DOUBLEPOST]what if i bought an ipad 3 would it also come with the latest ios version? Will i lose much on performance?
