I need to buy new spectacles frame and glasses. When I go to buy it, I have absolutely no idea how good they are both aesthetically and build quality wise. So just want to what factors do you guys take into account while buying it? And please suggest me some places (offline or online) to buy it. Budget is around 1500 Rs (frame and glasses combined).

My requirements:

1) Anti reflective glasses

2) Light weight.

3) Should snug well.

This depends on your power of glass. The higher the power more the cost.

You ca go for reputed brands like ZEISS or CRIZAL.

Personally, I prefer to shop in Himalaya Optical (Kolkata). Primary concern for me is always the fit, as it should not be too tight or loose, and also the weight. Should not feel like wearing steel.

+1 for Crizal.

Don't go online as the spec should suit and fit your face. Secondly, take your GF / female friends for determining the aesthetic value. IMO, they are the best judge

Zeiss lenses are prone to scratches...don't go for them...using Crizal rightnow...and these are awesome...but they are pretty costly...i got my pair for Rs 5600/-

At a modest budget of Rs.1500, you do not have much options. Most quality lenses cost upwards of Rs.2k. Frame cost is separate. IMO, if you are really looking for a good quality eyewear, save some more and spend at least 4 to 5k. Around 2.5k for the lens (Crizal A2 would be my choice), and another 2k for the frame.

you can go for trio lens, that is lower budget lens of cryzal. will cost about 500-600 I am using it currently, not bad. go for a stylish frame, you can get good frame for 1000-1500.

but be cautious, there are a lots of fake frames around. I bought a tagheuer frame with trio lens, cost around 2k

Ok, I can update my budget to 4k. I will take crizal lenses. Is Crizal A2 fine?

I am not sure about the frame yet. Any reliable, stylish, comfortable, budget brands?
