Z wants some military enforcement atleast from his perspective while Trump says US presence would be a security guarantee enough both needs to find common ground in this.
In simple terms, Z wants regional geo-political level security for his country, well vetted arranged resources sharing is a compromise.

President Donald Trump directed his administration to "pause" military aid to Ukraine after the contentious meeting in the Oval Office with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Friday.
VP vance also said that President Donald Trump's administration is "already working" on a peace plan with the Russians. Vance was asked if the administration would welcome Zelenskyy back if he were willing to come back to the negotiating table. Vance said yes -- if Zelenskyy was willing to seriously engage.
On foreign policy, the president is expected to touch on his efforts to help broker a peace deal between Ukraine and Russia. He is also expected to focus on his administration's efforts to bring home hostages amid the Israel-Hamas conflict.
Dmitry Peskov, Kremlin spokesperson, told reporters. "If the U.S. suspends these supplies, it will probably be the best contribution to peace."
On protests from Students in US Universities, Schools & Colleges
Trump said "All Federal Funding will STOP for any College, School, or University that allows illegal protests," Trump wrote on Truth Social. "Agitators will be imprisoned/or permanently sent back to the country from which they came. American students will be permanently expelled or, depending on on the crime, arrested. NO MASKS! Thank you for your attention to this matter."
The president will push Congress to pass more border security funding for deportations and the border wall, the official said.

Within minutes of the new U.S. tariffs taking effect, China unveiled on Tuesday its initial response by placing additional 10% to 15% tariffs on imported U.S. goods, like chicken, wheat, soybeans and beef.
The new tariffs of China are set to come into effect for goods shipped out next Monday, March 10.

France & UK are pushing for a ceasefire and to then send their troops into Ukraine as 'peacekeepers'. They will head for Odessa and try to secure the Black sea. Then they can engineer some false flag and cry for the US to come save them. Their attempt is to get a big war in Ukraine or keep the one there from stopping.
The goal has always been to trap the US into fighting for West Europe in Ukraine. Z is being told what to say and do by Starmer & Macron.
Russia doesn't need a ceasefire as they are winning. They outnumber Ukraine, three to one for troops, five to one for artillery and ten to one for artillery vehicles.
