will my cpu support it
if not 9800gt then which one

Re: help me in buying new graphics card..

You can go for the 9800GT Green edition if you dont want to change your PSU. Or go for the 4670 @ 4.5k for the 1gb edition. I had one and could play all games except crysis (which i played all high @ 1280x960) @ 1440x900. I used that on a stock PSU along with an AMD X2 4400+ @ 2.31Ghz had no bottleneck or anything as such. It did a decent 50+ fps in farcry 2 with very high settings @ 1440x900. So you can see the card is good. However as most of the others would say on this forum wait a while and get the 5670 @ around 6.5K with dx11. Upto you man. Btw for a standard 9800GT you will need to change your psu if you don't have a proper one.

Your CPU may bottleneck any card!!!!Change it!!!

Re: help me in buying new graphics card..

Yeah i have seen that, but yours is a e2140 and that is a e5200. Lots of difference.

The price of the 9800GT Green edition is apparently around 5k. it has lower clocks 550MHz core and lower shader and memory clocks. It also has a smaller bus width of 128 bit and low bandwidth as compared to the original 9800GT. Plus the green edition draws power only from the PCI-e slot i.e. no extra power connectors are required!! So expect a 20% drop in performance as compared to the 9800GT Standard. I have used them and i know what i am talking about!!!!!::)

Re: help me in buying new graphics card..

intel pentium dual cpu e2140@1.60GHz
Time for an upgrade
try this quadcore barebones kit out for $269
Biostar MCP6PB PowerUp Barebone Kit - Biostar MCP6PB M2+ Mobo, AMD Phenom X4 9650 CPU, Centon 2GB DDR2 RAM, Hitachi Deskstar 1TB Internal HD, PowerUp Black ATX Mid-Tower Case w/450W PSU at TigerDirect.com
Then for card go with GeForce GT 240 Video Card - 512MB DDR3, PCI-Express 2.0, DVI, HDMI, VGA for $70
So for $340 you can play Crysis @ 30-40 fps no problem

Re: help me in buying new graphics card..

one guy is selling his 9800gt green edition just search for it

he is selling it at 4k [under ur budget ]

get the 2nd hand 9800GT

and OC ur CPU to 2.5GHz(it hits 3GHz fairly easily on stock but 2.5GHz will be more than enuf)

What PSU do you have? First answer that question so ppl can help u better.

If you have a decent PSU then fine. If you have a generic one then its time to upgrade your PSU along with a GPU.

9800GT on a generic PSU is a BIG NO.
