BWT down for too Long- This skin Upgrade errrr...

Uffh.... Its too long now that they have kept the tracker offline....:(

This skin upgrade is taking hell too much of time....

its been 7 to 8 days that it has been down down...

Any idea, when will it return back:huh:,.... I am really missing BwTorrent.....
 
Every 2 months their "natak for donations" start.Its not like their user database is increasing at an alarming rate.Why cant they just stick to a good server.Remember the movie files and all the movie data is not stored on the servers.That resides on the users harddrives.Only the small torrent files are stored on the server.Even the screenshots are hosted on third party sites like imageshack.Then why so much asking for donations.God knows.

I agree. It has been baffling me no end. Other private trackers which I am a part of don't ask for money this blatantly. They have a lot more code and on site interactive content going on there and yet they just have a monthly donation cap of $150. And they treat their patrons like royalty.
 
K. its back online....But still no theme change.... ??

And now they are moving to datacenter....And asking for more donations... gosh

Any idea what exactly is datacenter in terms of trackers...//

as per @time of this post , DT's current donation thing , let's say 552 Euro (approx 46 % of total )

so let's do math , assuming 552 Euro as 50 % of total 100

so 552 * 2 = 1104 Euro

current rate of 1 Euro = 62 Rs ( as per moneycontrol.com)

so 1104 * 62 = 68,448 Rs /month

remember , we took 46 % as 50 % for above calculation .

Now , for BwT , Let's say 1500 $

current rate for 1 $ around 46 Rs (as per moneycontrol.com)

so 1500 * 46 = 69,000 Rs /month

both trackers month expenses comes now atleast same ;)

I am sure I didn't miss any digit there buddy. That is exactly how much my favorite private tracker wants as donations. I guess the costs of hosting a torrent indexing website must be high and yet those people don't ask too much from their users. On the other hand, BwT asks a bit too much.

yes & those people don't have such dedicated hardware & many time they operate such site from very risky home server.

there is one such "popular" desi site which is for such an example :ashamed:

god knows when such home based hardware will be seized wht happens to .....

on the other hand, BwT asks a bit too much.

$1500/month, if you are thinking that it is too much then you are absolutely rite. Those people who say that they know about hosting costs shouldn't really be defending these private trackers.

It doesnt cost more than $700(highest possible estimate) to host those dedicated servers, yes i am talking about dedicated servers. AFAIK BwT had purchased their own servers so they opted for co-location, that means they are not even renting the dedicated servers ( which are costlier ).

Multi we would all be so happy if you can ask BwT admins to show their Bills. AFAIK every Hosting company will send bills.

I hope u are old member of BwT & do remember all updates .

do u remember any such "proof" update for such purchase / bills in past ( I have seen them so do others )

if u still any doubts about , you are welcome to come in BwT Court & clear up .
