PC Peripherals Cabinet and fans

Guys,

These are the final things I have to decide on.

I had enquired about the CM 690 and looks great.

But I would like to go for something that is cheaper, but has a good ventilation. Here is my system detail:

Intel i5-750
MSI P55 GD65 mobo
2*2GB Kingston DDR3
Powercolor HD 5850
Corsair TX650
1 KVA Ups - Microtek or APC or something within the 3k range.
Coolermaster hyper 212+
Now can someone help me choose a cabinet please? What about the NZXT Gamma? Any other models that are cheaper but better?

Also regarding fans, how much do these cost? And how many fans for the above config should I install?..Any idea if there is a brand for these? Please help me out.

That's totally your call - do you count on others' opinion when selecting the choice of color for your car or the car itself?

Do look at the CM590, the Antec 300 and the Lancool series from Lian Li. The 590/690 comes with some crappy fans onboard though which needs to replaced with other alternatives.

so you mean looks wise it kinda lacks a bit?..

Yes, it does..
My Suggestion Get a CM690 coz it's totally worth every penny that you spend on it..
at 4.6k (Transparent Side Panel Model) it's one of the best mid tower case out on the market today..
Even i've got one.. & to be honest i Rejected NZXT Tempest & bought it instead coz -
1) it is cheaper
2) has bottom intake for PSU
3) build quality is better

^^

+1

CM690 is a good case. Decent cable management. Though the bundled fans are no great guns, but can be replaced.

yea try cm 690.i have gamma..it is good but 690 has more space and better cable management .also 690 comes with 3 fans ..gamma has 1 fan...but have 5 extra slots...if u buy 5 fans it will again costs 2k.so u have to spend 2k for gamma and 2k for fans..total 4k

ok..so if its the cm 690 then for my config, how many fans and what fans do i buy. I have no clue about these. Please help me out with this. And also howmuch do these fans cost?

And one more thing, how should these be installed? What I mean is where should the fans be installed in the cabinet for maximum cooling?..

Thanks neo.

I checked out th elink and the video. They were useful. Now I have a question:

What rating should the intake fans be? I mean is there something in wattage or how do you know that say a couple of these fans installed will give your chassis positive pressure?

Also, where are intake fans typically installed? Is it like you can install them anywhere or are there specific spots like on the side or on top or in the front?

Similarly for exhaust fans what rating should I buy and where in the chassis should it be installed?

Another thing I would like to know is the brand of these fans. Which brand would be reasonable and how much would it cost?

intake--front,side panels,bottom (check high cfm 70-90 or 110 /120 if u want)

exhaust---rear,top (low cfm around 50 )

check coolermaster or xigmatek.

check dealers market for offers and brands

Ok guys. I have decided to with the NZXT Gamma and Add two 90Cfm fans for intake in the front and side and two 50cfm fans for exhaust at the top and rear. Does this sound good? And yes dust filters for the intake fans too.

And also how are the cooler master fans?..

good suggestion

But cm fans are loud..try xigmatek ..low db fan they are 61 cfm u can buy it for Rs 425/fan.u ll get nice orange or white color LED.and ull get nzxt 45cfm fan for rear with that cabby(stock)..

and ur psu is also an exhaust...try to fix 2 high cfm fans in side panel

OK after reading through some reviews, people believe that air should go straight through front to back. So here is what they suggest: 90cfm fans at the front(intake) and rear(exhaust). 50cfm fans at the side(intake) and top(exhaust).

I am planning to go with cm 690 as i couldnt find nzxt gamma. Ill go with the stock fans for front and rear and side. Probably will add a 60cfm fan for intake at the side, and a 60cfm exhause at the top...

What do you think?

or probably a 90cfm fan for the front, and put the front fan a the side, and a 60cfm fan at the top...
