PC Peripherals Cabinet Dillema

Hi to all,

I am getting new rig (most of it) from KMD on 10th Aug. Now the only thinga that are left are the PSU and the Cabinet. PSU is decided - Corsair HX 620.

The cabinet, i have decided on Stacker 830 Evo. But all of a sudden i am getting double minded. I mean i though it was for 14K. But on another thread that i started, someone said it is 16K. Can someone please tell me the exact cost of the cabby in lamington. Also if possible tell me the cost of stacker 830 (plain...no evo tha is).

Now comes the question that i have been wanting to ask for a really long time. Is the stacker 830 evo actually worth its price ????

See lets say it is not a question on budget. I have 14K, and i am willing to spend on it IF and ONLY IF it is actually worth it. In fact till yesterday i was 100% sure on buying it, but now all of a sudden i don't know. I am confused.

Another thing that i have in mind is that, suppose i buy a cheaper cabinet, say 4-5 K. Then i will save around 10K. I can throw in another 5K and get a creative X-Fi Fatality or something. But if i get stacker now, i can get the sound card after 2 months. Sound card is something i can add anytime, but the cabinet, you dont change all the time. So please tell me what to do.

Please if possible, tell me the mumbai rates of the following stuff:

1. Stacker 830 Evo

2. Stacker 830 plain (also how is it different from evo)

3. Creative X-Fi Fatality (one with console and remote)

4. Creative X-Fi Fatality (just the card - extreme gamer i guess)

6. Creative X-Fi Extreme Music.

And please help me make a decision.

Just checked with Matrix, the CM830 is not available till 3rd week august. So either a CM Centurion or Praetorian. or move to Antec.
 
Chaos is selling his CM 830 for about 10k+ shipping in the market section
You might just be interesteed
 
:) What is the stuff uou are putting inside? If you do not have half a dozen hard disks lotz of water cooling etc then you might not need the stacker?
You can get something like the chieftecs...

The stacker is way better but you save 10 grand also...

That to me is a huge amount of money....
 
dont waste your money on fatality .. get a regular xfi extreme music if you need one or the platinum
 
IMO not worth it....Get a Chieftec cabby with seventeam 600w PSU(prob the best out there) and u will still have cash to spare...

As bottle suggested....Xfi Xtreme Music is the way to go...

Get a Chieftec (or a CM Praetorian or an Antec 900) and an Autentech soundcard. The Stacker 830 has a really stupid fan arrangement.

Antec 900 sux & its Auzentech not Autentech :P

Chieftec BH/LBX series & CM Stacker 810/830 are a notch above others available in india in my opinion :)

i would recommend Auzentech X-Plosion over Creative X-Fi too :ohyeah:

14k for a cabinet thats not going to add anyth to your perfomance and not that much to its looks even(IMO) is not worth it...

Id rather get a Chieftec LBX + Seventeam ST-600...This will get me a grand daddy PSU and sweet cabby plus Il be able to save good money...

What about the Cooler Master Mystique 632 priced at around 6.5k - I think this is like a new version of a Wavemaster :) I like this case and I may buy it sometime. If anyone wants to see it - it is there at APEX in Mumbai

frankly, there's no need to spend the extra on the mystique cabby... nothing special abt the build quality, and the internal layout and toolless design is what the chieftec BH/BX cabbies offer too... get yourself a chieftec, save yourself a few k, and spend it on something else :)

The main attraction for the Mystique is that it is made of Aluminium so no rust headaches which I have always had with my previous cases. But maybe I will get the Chieftec after all.

Last month I had actually saved up 15k to buy the Stacker 830 EVO and missed getting it by just 2 days as at that time my Antec TP II 550w PSU blew up like a bomb and I bought the Corsair 620w and I felt I needed to upgrade my UPS and so got the APC SmartUPS 750i ..... all 15k gone :(

i'll show my temps with 20C room temp (AC on) soon after my 5 sflex 63cfm fans arrive :D :ohyeah:
 
Honestly if you havent seen Stacker personally you have no idea wtf is someone talking about when he is recommending it.

I have Chieftec bx series, BH series and stacker 830 evo with me in my home. And stacker is wayyyyyy bigger from inside than chieftec.

Fan arrangement needs proper thinking, proper cfm fans at right places in stacker is needed to get the best out of it. If you simply stick fans where there is place to in stacker all u will get is freaskin high pressure tornado inside the cabinet.

But get proper flow and its one of the best cabinets for air cooling solution.

People selling this are going for something bigger for their wc setups ;)

If you have money to spend, stacket 830 evo is the best you can buy.

I got mine for 14750k a while ago.

I DONT like the Antec 900 case.

I am totally convinced that there is only one case available locally good enough for my computer and that it the Stacker 830 EVO .... I was going to buy it until my stoopid Antec PSU crapped out on me.

Now that my money is all spent I would have to buy a cheaper case and the Mystique looked good to me - it is wider by a fraction then my current case the P160 and I have no problem with the TRU or TRUE heat sink in my current case.

The reason I am going to need a case soon is that the threads on the back plane of the case for the screws that hold down the cards are all worn out in my P160 case - I keep removing and replacing cards so often that the threads in the case have worn out totally - I have already enlarged and re-threaded the holes and I now use wider screws but even these threads are nearly worn out :(

@Funky - HOW ARE YOU MAN !! I was really looking forward to tinkering under the hood of the 830 EVO - it would have given me hours and hours of fun tweaking it. Sadly now it cannot be so :( Maybe when I hit the jackpot next time :)

God save me frm such overindulgence...Maybe Im not passionate enuf.... maybe Iam not rich enuf...sm way or the other for me the Stacker 830EVO is not value enuf...But whoever talks abt value with the rich and powerful... and what an easy way to enter the Elite with this cabinet...
