Cabinet: Zebronics Rock server case

Zebronics Rock Computer case

Introduction

This time i am here to review a cabinet. this is my first cabinet review so don't flame me for any mistakes :p . i came across this cabinet 2 days ago and found it really impressive. Its a server cabinet with lots of mounting points and space. The cabinet is having a big front door with horizontal vents for air. The front door is lockable, above the front door there are the LED lights for power, HDD, 2 x network and 1 with exclamation mark on it, i don't know what is it maybe something for server boards lol .

Picture of the cabinet Front

Design

The front door locking mechanism is pretty good and it doesn't feel flimsy or lose. Reset and power switch are inside the front door. The whole front part of the cabinet is perforated so air intake won't be a problem.

Inside the front door there are 4 USB and audio connectors.

The front door is also having a big dust filter which is removable and washable .

In the rear it comes with 120mm fan. the fan is having a 3 pin connector so it can be thermally controlled. there is provision for 2x60mm fans in the rear and one 120mm intake in the front. it can take normal PSU or redundant PSUs which is generally used in servers.

The motherboard tray is having many holes for mounting coz its a server case.

Side panel is having holes for air ventilation.

there is handle in the side panel for removing it.

There are 6 front LEDs as i said earlier.

After installing the components in the cabinet.

accessories

There are many accessories provided with the case. all the mouting screws are provided. then there are rails for mounting the 5.25" and 3.5" drives. Four cable ties are also there in the package. there are some optional accesories like harddisk mounting box. the case is having mouting points for 2 harddisk on the sides. there is also a harddisk box available which can hold upto 5 harddisks. so u can either have 8 x 5.25" and 2 x 3.5" HDDs or 5 x 5.25" and 7 x 3.5".

there are two types of foot provided with the cabinet. one is rubber type normal and another extended type, as seen in the pics

Build and finishing

The case is very heavy and big. finishing of paint and inside of the cabinet is very good and it has a feel good factor. The dimention of the cabinet is 220(w)x600(d)x427(h). its is made fron 0.8mm-1.2mm material. weight of the cabinet is 13Kg without PSU.

Verdict

I think this is pretty good cabinet for gaming machines. It is available in 2 colors white and black. price of this product is 5500/- with all taxes. PSU is not included with the case. The cabinet looks more expensive than it is.

PS: the LED on front panel with exclamation mark on it is for fan failure warning.

too big too heavy.....ugly......

I remember checkng this at the distris place when I went to purchase Jamaica...

2 guys had their hands full lifting it...

I guess thats why its called a server case !! ;). And you're supposed to be roaming around with your servers.

And yeah, a unique plus point, it would need at least 2 guys to steal your server ...

Anyway, I like the case, can sure be modded to look even better.

max....if this is smaller than jamaica then this isnt wat I saw...

What I saw was way larger than jamaica in length..about 30%-40% lengthier atleast and then (6months back) retailed for abt 9k...

People say no board frm zeb is that big....what could that be...any idea.....

fracking monster server chasis that was...

This was 7k with a 500W PSU when I got my Jamaica. The dealer was recommending this cabby, but Jamaica looked a lot better in terms of looks and the size was sufficient enough for me. so settled with the Jamaica. Rock is for those who want to run server class machines or those who are not gonna move move their machines anytime in the near future.
