None of the images open. I am getting a frog frozen inside a block of ice and says domain unregistered. :|

Could you upload the snaps to imgur?

@Gannu: That's wierd, try them again.

The frozen frog came up on the first try, but the second try the images showed up.

@Mephisto: Please clean your AMD heatsink, it looks like a monster's back yard in there.

Yeah will do that, but first need to know how to mange the cables better so that I do everything in one go.

Much better now. Thanks!

Cable management is certainly a mess there!

Here're my 2 cents:

- Move the optical drive to a slot beneath the present one and make some space there.

- Get a bag of zip ties - those larger 10" ones should be helpful.

- Tie the cables that aren't being used and stack them on the space above the optical drive and tie those to the sides of the drive cage. Else it may push back due to the tension.

- The 24 pin cable - can be easily routed through the space beneath the board. The spacers for the motherboard easily give you about 6mm of space between the enclosure's back plate and the board. The 24-pin cable can be squeezed within this space. There is no harm done this way to the cable nor to the board. I've done this before and can vouch for it. This will also give you plenty of room within the enclosure.

- Since the VX450 has only one 6pin pci-ex power cable, you are using the supplied molex adapter. Tie this adapter to the 6pin power cable and neatly tie it along the height of the hard drive cage and the optical drive cage instead of simply leaving it free.

- The 4pin power +12v connector to the board - nothing much can be done other than tying them in loops.

- Leave the SATA data cables as such. As such, they are pretty thin and tying them in loops serves you no good.

Good luck with some elbow grease!

Where to get them? Are they available on eBay etc.?

Also which TIM to use? Cheap and best?
Try asking this seller what is the length of these ties.

Else scout through your local market that retails electronic components. They seem to stock it. Better still, ask Amarbir - he may have it or may give you pointers as to where to get these from Chandigarh.

Get a tube of Arctic Cooling MX2.

I don't think its your cables thats causing the high temperatures, there seems to be enough clear space around the cpu and air intake area. You should looking at cleaning the cpu heatsink first or look into an aftermarket cooler.

Does your cabinet have space behind the motherboard tray ? you can stuff some wires over there. Here is a pic of my case, its messy but should give you an idea.

I've asked the seller regarding the length, and yeah will visit nearby computer stores/lynx if the length isnt atleast 10"

Thanks for the help

You call that messy? :O

Yeah the high temps are most probably because of the dust on the HSF, but still it'd be more visually pleasing if I manage the cables better :)

Im not sure if there is sufficient space behind the motherboard tray, will need to check.

Also, can I get SATA cables of short length from somewhere?

yea, because I remember when it used to look like this  good old days

dont bother with short sata cables, they are overpriced. stick to regular ones and reroute

^Try to get something longer, you will need it when you try to bundle up thick PSU cables

Length of cable Ties is 10 cm /3.93 inches(approx)

I reckon it'd be enough?

Or maybe I could go buy these locally and save the 35 shipping cost.
You definitely need longer ones. I can send you a few but I'd say get a bag of 100 odd ties. Will be helpful in the future.

Can u tell me from where i can buy odd ties... i stay in mumbai... i wanna do some cable management too... :)

^A friend sent me a bunch from Chennai. Couldn't source these from Surat either.

Scout through the local electronic market street. You might find there. :)

I used all possible verbal descriptions of these ties in my area local stores. Nobody has them or they probably didnt understand it after all . On a serious note, that eBay deal does seem good for most of the cable management requirements except where thicker PSU cables would come into the picture.
