^If you loved the WW II setting, you might like this but keep in mind that this title was launched in late 2006. So graphics isn't all that great but it isn't much of a downer either.

And yeah a bump after 4 years and 4 months. :P

^ I just LOVED World at War, probably one of my fav WWII shooter. Might give this a try. Waiting for your end game mini review :D

I totally forgot this game came out for the consoles! Would ve definitely played it on the Xbox if I had remembered! Thx for bumping this up Gannu! I ll definitely play this! Love me history 'n world war stuff! :P

i remember playing this on the PS3. Was not as good as Call of Duty 2 which i played on PC. This games used a lot of 6 axis controller gestures which was a real pain. I had to throw around the controller to row boats, plant explosives and screw the rods into them.

I'll definitely give this game a shot now since I'd missed it back then. Although, two months back I bought and downloaded Call of duty Classic, which was the first release in the epic CoD series and have been enjoying it thoroughly. :-)

It was a bad move to make this game console only, consider all the other COD games had came out on PC. I had tried it for a brief period on the PS2, but promptly gave up as the visual were appalling. Was really keen on trying it though, since COD2 had raised the bar that much higher for war games back then.

True. I guess CoD 4's rise to popularity was after it was released on all platforms and continues to do so.

Sorry for the delayed response. My health can be blamed for that. :(

Like someone pointed out before, PS3 users will have a slightly hard time with the game. Like setting up charges, rowing a boat, opening/closing valves etc require intensive use of the six-axis feedback and required the user to painfully twist and turn the controller as indicated on the screen. The instance wherein we are supposed to row the boat - I bet rowing a real one would have been a whole lot easier than fiddling with the controller. Follow the on-screen instructions and you are good to go. The controller needs to be held the way it is indicated on the screen else the feedback would be zilch! I ended up playing that sequence at least half a dozen times before I got it right.

Minus those niggles, the gameplay was very good. All the elements you could ask from the first 2 titles from the franchise is very much evident in the third game. WW-II warfare. Riding Jeeps, taking control of tanks, mortars, calling for air-strikes etc. Graphics like I said before was mediocre, albeit for a game released in 2006 that ported to the PS2 and the Xbox, it looked fairly decent. There were those occasional bugs as well.

All in all a good game otherwise. WW-II warfare based gameplay lovers, should definitely give this a shot. :)
