Just thought what kind of FPS people like to play. And, of course, how?
Games
As far as I am concerned, I like to play modern shooters. I just can't get enough of CoD4. It's the perfect game for me. hyeah:
I don't like horror/survival stuff at all and don't fancy barren industrial settings of Half Life series. I like my FPS to have good outdoors like what was there in Far Cry, Crysis or up to an extent Halo. This is one reason I don't fancy F.E.A.R. too much.
I like my FPS to have lots of lights and prefer day time gameplay than the nights. I don't liked dark corners and monsters lunging at me, so I don't like Doom 3.
As far as Possible I like to battle humans - if possible those with amazing AIs like mercenaries in far Cry - and not monsters and aliens. :bleh:
How I play FPS
1- I love my assault rifle. I need one good assault rifle (relatively accurate and powerful) that I always carry with me. My kind of assault rifle is M4 in Far Cry or Scar in Vegas 2. If it has scope that's great or even Iron sights will do. This is my primary weapon. Outdoor, indoor... evergreen. I like to fire in short bursts and because I usually don't go gun and run, I rarely use machine guns.
2- When I start a game I look to get a shotgun as soon as possible. And when I get one I rarely toss it away. I use it when I am indoors as I like to sneak up to enemies and then go all out blasting.
3- Sniper rifles. I use them on certain occasions and specially when I know I will be on the higher ground than my enemies.
4- Frag grenades are the last component. I don't use too many of them but carry as much as possible for those tight spots.
5- As you can guess from the kind of FPS that I play, I like to go to my fights slowly and tactically but try to finish them as soon as possible. so my games have a five minutes of sneaking around, a few shootouts with help of rifle scope or iron sight and then 2 to 3 minutes boom boom with shotgun.
Now, I am a relatively new player so lets see how expert fraggers here do it.
I know there is no one way to beat a game as almost all game incorporate various kinds of game play - sneaking, sniping, full blast, gun and run - but still tell what is you preferred style and how approach fights within a game. Of course, depending on your gameplay style depends the kind of games you like to play.
