@chiron

Seems you took it in the wrong sense.

OK, there is no mac in the school. The 16 PCs in the school (for about 300 students) are donated by alumni members and by some other good people.

None of the students have PC at their home, majority are from very poor families and they can't even think of having one.

Internet transactions - not going to teach them using credit cards or paypal. But how to book an Indian train ticket, how to subscribe for a magazine or how to pay some bill etc. That also showing them in the presence of teachers. Not giving them any usernames and passwords for messing up.

Need of email clients - They need to know the basics of email clients as it will be useful in the future. None of the topics covered are for instant application, it is for the future. The kids in cities are lucky to have PCs at home when they are 10 or 12, they get a chance to learn everything their own. But that is not the case with the students in village.

You are from Calicut rt ? Wayanad is just 100 Kms from your place :) And you know the living standards of people there.

Please go through the thread and my posts to get a clear idea. And I am always open to suggestions and constructive criticism.

Thanks.
