hi all,
I have heard martix calling cards, as well some others service provider provides this facility to call from any where world to india. So do u know any service provider provides facility..??

thnx in advance..

Matrix/similar services is cheaper than roaming on your indian number. BUT - if you are getting a SIM there (assuming that you are going for work) it makes no sense - best option for calling from abroad is local SIM of that country + Calling card or Yahoo Messenger/Some other VoIP - especially in South Korea with its insane net speeds.

Matrix only makes sense if you are going on a tourist trip and people are going to be calling you rather that you calling up rather than the other way around.

FYI - For thailand they quoted me - Rs.50/day rent, incoming free, and ~32/min outgoing. (they themselves provide you with a local sim of that country)

Buy a calling card from south korea, best bet to buck. Matrix call charges along with regular charges is too high.

i am in UK...have a matrix card(which is actually a local t-mobile card)

there are no monthly rentals, and incoming is free

so i just give missed calls to everyone lol

another advantage is that their pulse is of 1second

so if you make a 5second call, you dont get charged for a minute

Any info about matrix calling cards for the US?

Answering my own query..

Matrix gave me the following tarrif for U.S:

1$ per day as rental. 10 mins of incoming free and 10 mins of local outgoing free per day. 30 cents per minute for outgoing local calls. 30 cents per minute for incoming. 1$/min for calling India. Handset(NK6030) is included. Tie up is with AT&T.

there is no 2g/2.5g gsm network in korea....stick to korean calling cards, or alternately, use the free flowing korean bandwidth, buy some minutes on yahoo and call india @ 8 cents/minute

^ Yes, its a CDMA network. My friend had to pay like 60/min on his Reliance phone on roaming.

Best bet is a calling card/Yahoo Call service.
