Hie guys,
was watching top gun the other day and suddenly had the urge of playing flight simulators :P
But im not into hardcore simulators where u have to check everything before taking off blah blah blah i found it very boring.
Im looking for a game where u control the plane simple take offs landing and main thing mission should be shooting and bombings and stufff
So can anyone plz suggest me a few good games that has a lot of simulation and a lot of action for the PC ofcource
thanks :cool2:

there is this old game - Airfix Dogfighter.. i used to play it for fun.. long time back.. n i totally like it too :D

dogfighter lol :P
yep it was fun that..
anyway i would say these:

microsoft combat sim (all are good actually but it is not that easy to control)
commanche 4 or apache(helicopter sims)
there are some old ww2 sims around too.. very brilliant and light on system load. Will check the names and tell ya..

A good Flight Sim....
I myself liked "DID F-22 ADF"

ADF= Air Defence Fighter
DID= company name.

This game is quite light on resources and has good gfx also.
Apart from this...

If you want a real flight sim...controls will be tough as flying a plane isnt easy.
But, out of the flight sims i have played, the above is great.

I highly recommend it.

PS: it runs on a p2 333Mhz with 64 MB RAM and a 4 MB video card too.

F22 lightning or F22 Raptor, only difference is u get a nuke in the former :P
quite good, low on resources and fun to play..

IL2 Sturmovik

However the king is still Microprose's Falcon 4.0, but requires one to go through it's 600 page manual before you can even figure out what's going on.

A simple missile jam maneuver requires practicing 20 pages worth of instructions for a month.

Raptor!!!!! :bleh:

A bit low on simulation, but definitely heavy on action!!! :ohyeah:
i wont bother with sys resources ;) ... think u should be able to play it on high detail :P

Whats the point.... If you need to study on how to play a game, maybe thats the reason I prefer the arcade versions of simulation games.

F22 raptor definitely. really simple to get used to. But it gets somewhat repetative.
Try a dos game called Retal. its a MIG 29 retaliator. simply awesome and has mouse controls. less than 2 Mbs I think but is simply great fun to play. and the missions are not as repetative as F22 raptor. Try it.

There are many people who think otherwise and it must be an excellent experience for them to do some intricate formation flying after putting in so many hours.
Every succesful landing after detailed communication with the control tower for traffic information must feel awesome.

I myself don't have the patience to study so much nor the money for the expensive joysticks they require, but it's sad devs who put so much effort in their games have to eventually shut down.

Falcon4 got perfectly adopted by the community though, after all updates it looks better than lockon and other new flight sims.
The people who play it still won't touch anything else.

There has to be a good balance in flight sims, microsoft's fs series and ubisofts lockon gets this perfectly but the former is only fun if you are really into domestic aviation and the latter is too demanding on the system.

They can't be too easy that the playing process becomes a nonsensical chore while still avoiding becoming a full fledge military level simulator like falcon4 was (lol I STRONGLY recommend downloading the .pdf version of it's manual, it's fun reading what the devs expected from their customers, will be beyond your wildest speculations guarenteed).

For driving sims it's reverse, they can be as realistic as possible since the procedure is not much difficult in the first place.
Realism keeps adding to the fun in this case and if further dumbed down becomes not worth doing (apart from exceptional cases like nfs4, burnout3).

if ever i have to read a manual to play a game, it usually ends up in my recycle bin :P
But i agree with ya. Flight sims are meant to be realistic and many people want them to be as close to real life as possible.

MS Flight Simulator 2004.

hehe..it pwned way back on my P3 500MHz :bleh:

man so i guess all the kinda sim that im looking for are mostly really old games no new games for the pc atleast has a simple fly and shoot thing ......
