This is the Scenario .. (FLASHBACKKKKKK)

about 2 - 3 years back i had MTNL in my house room no.1

i had the Night Unlimited connection

They gave me alot of day usage charges which was totally FAULTY . as i had a bandwidth monitor with me

a bill of 5.5k was sent instead what should have been 2k MAX !!

thats when my dad fought with MTNL guys n refused to pay the bill unless corrected

they did not correct it ..

since then i am using TATA unlimited connection

now TATA is giving me 512kbps for 999/-

I want to SWITCH OVER TO the NEW MTNL's 1Mbps Unlimited connection for 999/-

Here is the Deal ..

Now i have 2 rooms

Room no.1 - for which i had the earlier MTNL (Read Details Above) &
Room no.2

1. Can i now take a New connection in the name of Room no.2 ??
2. What Documents will i require to get a new line + unlimited broadband ??
3. And what would be the total costings ?

Notes ...

I can even take a new connection in the name of my neighbour (Room No.3) .. who is ready to help me with his documents .. and he wont use the line .. n will forward me the bills .. but that still is the secondary option

I am not gonna use the phone line to make any calls as every1 in my house has a mobile phone

Room no 1 is in name of Dad & Grandfather
Room no 2 is in name of Dad & Mom

AFAIK
- No monthly CPE charges for UNLTD connection
- 12.5% Tax

P.S. Dont flame this thread im not doing something illegal here.. if i was i wouldnt have bother to post it here .. i was just another frustrated customer of MTNL NU Issues ...
Please Enlighten me guys i really need ur help on this :)

Take care n Happie Gudi Padwa

Can any1 help me on this plz :(

lol in night unlimited u hav to switch off the router before 8 am

Mtnl is best vfm and has no fup too

^ How does that help solve the OPs query ?

@ Deep .. Why don't you just try applying for a new connection with MTNL or to your local office and sort it out ?

Deep I think you should just go ahead and apply for a new connection for Rm 1 if that is what you need. Knowing MTNL they forgive and forget :) so you should have no issues. If they happen to refuse for some reason, you can always apply for rm 2 which is like a different address for them anyway.

I don't see what you are hesitating for.

Apply for new connection

Old connection all your details will be out

Simple as that..they have short memory but their computer doesnt

For other details just say to them u want internet connection u dont have landline and want to apply for new connection etc etc...Once their guys come give themm kharcha pani to keep quiet about your old connection and tell them to help u in getting new plan

Official policy is that no new connection will be provided to an address/customer unless all previous dues are paid/cleared, iirc.

Since the bill wasn't settled then, the final amount maybe more than what it was then.

AGreed but u ,me and many more INDIAns know how government machinery works..

If he can cover up with downloads and gets decent speed i will say try your tricks...;)

Try applying for a new connection for the other room or take one in your neighbors name.
If you looking at night unlimited plans, you need to switch the router on and off before and start of the prescribed time.

As for the MTNL Mumbai tariff plans

Since the customer name and address are different there is little chance of them noticing it.

Besides at worst they can only refuse the connection so it doesn't hurt to try :D
