Can i unlock my mobile in India?

Hello everyone,

I am new in this forum. My brother is in Canada, he bought an Apple iphone from Rogers (Mobile service provider in Canada). The mobile is under contract of 3 years, he want to send me that mobile here in India.

Can i unlock that mobile here?? I am living in Chandigarh, i have no clue about this. Please help me out guys.
