I have a close acquaintance whose grown son is completely paralyzed and spends his days in a wheelchair. I've helped maintain his motorised wheelchair for the past several years (I'm in electronics). Now the controller joystick is worn out and damaged beyond repair but they can't find a replacement. It will be really great if you could help find it.

The joystick is Chinese made (probably the wheelchair too - I don't have it with me now) and the model No. is D50677.01 which is printed at the bottom. It is listed on a few websites but they're all out of stock. There are other models which have the same functions and look similar at a casual glance, but it's software driven so the replacement will have to be the same model.

I'm in a remote region and there's no hope of finding the joystick in the local market. So I'll really appreciate it if those of you living in the larger cities could ask around,

Thanks for your interest. Yes, that's the exact model. But it's quite pricey, probably heavily marked up after importing it from China to the US. Different models with the same function are around $100 and something like 10k in India.

Anyway, please check with your contact.

One seller on AliExpress is offering it for Rs.9.4k plus 2.9k shipping. I wonder if there's a way to get it.

You can use a package forwarding service in a middle state (Singapore has lots of them and China to Sg is very often free shipping), then reship to India. I used Borderlinx couple of times, but it adds at least 10-20% to the cost.
