Canon EOS 600D and EOS 1100D announced

For those expecting a price of 27k for the 1100D might be in for a disappointment as the Canon 500D which sells for $550 in the US costs 30995 here in India with warranty.

So the 1100D which has an MSRP of $599 should expect at least a 33 - 34k price.
 
Brendon, the 500D is mostly at $650 in US with kit lens (SLR Digital Cameras)

You translate the same price of bhpphoto for 1100D (USD600), it turns upto 27.5k. I am pretty sure it will settle at that price. If you look at almost all canon models they are 20% higher in India only, with Nikon being 25-30% higher.
 
^^ The 550D with lens sells for 35k with bill + warranty in India. So $50 less cannot translate into a 7k price reduction in INR.

Also the Nikon D3100 and D90 are priced almost on par with the US prices.

Only with the D7000 and above that things start to go haywire !
 
@BF1983: Where exactly are you finding the 550D with kit lens and B&W for 35k..? Most online sites sell them for not less than 43K. The brick and mortar stores should be selling them for not less than 40K, if at all there is any difference. 35K sounds like an awesome deal for that cam.
 
Brendon,you are right. Infact if Canon 500D retails for 34K in Fort (its around 650 USD in BHP-photo), hence 600 USD translates into 31.2k in Indian prices.
