The s3is community has developed a CHDK program that offers easy hacking that can allow it to shoot in RAW, control movie recording quality and other additional features. 4. the rear LCD can be completely rotated to any angle. It is not all a bed of roses thoughthe biggest drawback of the s3is is the inablility to shoot for more than 8 mins without break. After 8 mins, you need to start recording again... The S3is offers amazing features right out of the box, but if you want more, you can easily hack it. The Canon community is so strong and creative that hacking the s3is is childs play just requiring the turning of a dial (unbeliveable but true). Once hacked the s3is will gain more capabilities like shooting in RAW mode, changing quality of movie recording - thus increasing the duration of movie taken, display of histogram while shooting etc. All important features sought by real photographers. All this for free!!!

Trust me no other camera community offers similar benefits!!

So what are you waiting for.

The s3is is the best camera if you are starting off into photography OR if you are not satisfied with the silly point and shoot camera you already have.

If you want to enjoy the best of both worlds - complete manual control of a DSLR and convenience of a point a shoot - the S3is is the best option.
