lets not go too OT on eazys thread :P

No No... its OK.. good info....

I saw some 80mm and 90mm Panaflo fans at Lamington Road and I bought 3x80s and 2x90s. Good fans. Pretty high speed. The fans pictured by me above have been scanned by me. At Lamington Road at various times I have seen Panaflo - Nidec - FlowMax (very good high speed) - Papst - Mitshibushi - Sunon - Commonwealth (very high speed).

The FlowMax Fans are made in Thailand and are very good - been using one 90mm for close to 4 years and it is pretty quiet and high speed. If you can afford it nothing can touch a Papst fan for built quality. Papst fans cost about the same as Antec but the ones I saw have 2 pin connections.

I dont care for Sunon Fans they are the only ones which die off - in about a year. Probably FAKES !!! :(

Get the XP-90C + panaflo instead. The neo2 is not perfectly compatible with the xp-120. You might have to bend a few capacitors.
awww man! I thought xp120 will fit except you can use dimm 1 and 2. :(
Thanks Chaos :cool2:
XP-90C is great it an all copper version of the XP-90 ;) I better start looking for for it

Eazy, u Richard?

YUP its me Richard :)

I used the name richard as that was available at an email site before Hotmail was around. That place did not allow you to choose your name - had to use one which was available at their site. It is from iname.com

Ahhh as my identity is now known I may as well go back to MY real Avatar......

xp 120 fits on the neo2 and you can use the dimms , only you have to bend a cap slightly. will post a pic later.

anyways guess its better to stick to xp90. less headache ;)

Yep XP-90 is great heatsink. And dont bother for that CU version. Its heavy.
XP-90 is giving some great results with Coolermaster Fan for me.
With tornado it gives some scary temps ;) Yousometimes wonder if the damn CPU is actiually at 2.5Ghz or running with cool and quiet at 1Ghz :P
But its too loud. So Coolermaster it is.

I find these fans in the small shops in the side streets off Lamington road. There is one street which has lots of smallish shops selling eletronics parts and some have all sorts of fans. I dont remember the name of the street but I think the shop on the Lamington Road corner of this street is Raju and Raju. It may be this street or the one next to it. Most of these shops display a few fans on their show window.

Yeah... I forgot Papst in the list :(. Globe and Evercool are pretty kewl too. I got some good reviews of silverstone fans from bottle. Judging by the quality of their cases and psus, they'd definitely be good.

If you're not moving the case to lanparties, then I guess 600 odd grams is not that big a deal. The copper version is around 2.5 degrees cooler than the aluminium version under load. Worth it? I dunno... depends upon u. I'd still have my Al xp-90 instead. BTW funky what is ur coolermaster rated at?

Papst have a setup in India I posted about this in our old neighbourhood :D ... attached the Papst India newspaper ad... I have some 92mm and 120mm Papst fans and they are very good.

I doubt you will get locally any fans made by the other 3 you named - Globe Evercool and Silverstone. Evercool make some Chrome finished fans. I have a picture of it on a Zalman Heat Sink - very cool looking.

Do you think Silverstone make their own PSU's and Fans ? I feel they may be sourcing it from other manufacturers and just putting their name on them. Their cases are fabulous.

need to try n get these fans then from lamington road. which 1 should i get?

i need 3 fans 2 for front intake & 1 for the sidepanel.

& how much did these fans from lamington cost u richard

The Panaflo's are good - really well made and good amount of air flow. I also like the FloMax fans - these have worked very well and they are cheaper. Some months back I saw some Panaflo's in a shop window which was about 3 - 5 buildings south of Cassette World I cannot remember the name of the shop but they had a couple of Panaflo fans in the Window.

I dont remember the prices - sorry.

Thanks for da prices Richard ! Really appriciate it !
Hey Stormblast... Y do u rate da pulseview over da lanboy ? any particular reasons or bad xperinces ?

There are 2 things I like about the Lanboy over the 1000AMG - its made of Aluminium and it has the drives at right angle in cradles so easy to add and remove drives.

IMHO The 3700BQE case is the one to get - in my opinion it is the best of these medium price cases. BQE = Black Quite Edition.

The Lanboy and 1000AMG have side panel windows.

The Lanboy and 3700BQE have place for 2 120mm fans - the 1000AMG has 80mm fans.

I use the P160 case and this is also very nice.

dunno i prefer 1000amg cause i can put more drives in it than the lanboy, & also cause i dont need to move it. the plusview is pretty big since its a server cabinet, & its got enough space inside, this was the only good antec case available when i got it long back.
